I accept that science cannot prove the non-existence of God. But . . .

Science CAN prove that the human species is older than 6000 years and that we did not spring from a single human couple.

Science CAN prove that there was no global flood about 4300 years ago, with all the attendant migratory nonsense that that implies.

Science CAN prove that evolution is true.

Science CAN prove that a man cannot defy physics to walk on water - or defy mathematics with loaves & fishes - or defy chemistry to turn water into wine - or defy biology and raise the dead.

Science can prove a lot of things - important things, but it can't prove or disprove everything. It cannot disprove the existence of your favourite deity, but then, why should it even try? There are much more important problems for science to spend it's time, resources and effort trying to find an answer to.

Problems your god won't lift a finger to address.

The intelligent Creator, doesn't care about human affairs. That is tragic. My ex has a high IQ also. He doesn't care about beating my son, lying about it to SWs, and being in good standing in the KH. Intelligence does not always eqaute with compassion.

    I hear you Nic,

Women respond to emotion. This picture brings tears to my eyes, and a hatred towards God. It makes me pray to him about his behaviour, hence I don't believe any less, I actually strike up a dialogue. Maybe I am just talking to myself though.

You make a valid point. Sam xx

may be the various gods do not want to interfere with evolution aka survival of the fittest, but not their children.

Hmmm. Would you accept the proposition that a CARING god has been disproved?

Totally, I would not have learned TTATT if I thought God cared about anyone. My duaghter doesn't think he cares about anyone either, and my son, 12yrs is an atheist.

One step at a time nic love Sam xx

It’s a good argument against fundamentalist believers in the bible and also fundamentalist religion that takes the moral intelligence and the process of moral wrestling from followers. It’s not so good at getting to the heart of what morality and good really are and how they relate to bad and evil. Imagine what the world would look like if bad and immortality were magically halted because I think it would show why good cannot be separated from bad and bad from good. Such a world would also be horrific and possibly worse. Some believers in God have philosophical reasons to think a God should exist, that also takes into account the strange nature of good and bad in that both are flip sides of the same coin. Take one side away and there is no coin at all but the coin still needs minting by something.
