    • Dr. Hans Kristian Kotlar: "Thus, my research led me to conclude that life is a product of an intelligent Creator."

Who, then, produced the life of the intelligent Creator?

I know, I know . . . God has always existed. I'd be interested to know the extent of Dr. Kotlar's research supporting that assertion.

There are many more flood legends around the world. WT says it is because all humans come from Noah. I believe that those legends come from huge floods after the melting ofvthe last ice age 14000-8000 years ago. The sea level eas about 120metres below todays level. That gave an enormous amount of land to inhabit which is flooded now. There were maybe civilisations that we have never heard if.

Yeah, I'm thinking the flooding associated with emergence from the last Ice Age is the likely source of many myths, and often-overlooked is how the Genesis account and Sumerian legends contain an element of divine delegation of authority to the hero of the story to rule over his fellow men.

It's easy to forget that the timeframe of all of these myths emerging from various parts of the world generally stemmed from a time when most cultures were transitioning from hunter-gatherers to agrarian cultures, where people raised their crops and literally "put down roots".

Obviously a flood event would be devastating to a farmer, who watched his entire investment in time and energy growing crops become submerged, as his and the other families in the community faced famine; compare to the hunter-gatherer, who would be able to leave the area and still survive.

Point being, a local flood event represented a great source of fear for ancient peoples undergoing cultural transition, since the shift was likely stressful for them, and a flood (along with pestilence, as reflected in God's "cursing the Earth" to be non-productive for their efforts) would be their greatest fear and source of anxiety. Of course even today, our mythology (or urban legends) often reflect our cultural fears at the time, where eg 1950's horror films often contained a theme of fear of new-fangled atomic energy (eg mutant beings like Godzilla, etc).

Thanks everyone for the inputs, some are very insightful. Glad to have this vibrant community expressing ideas, a mine filed of intellectual ideas.

For me, Dr. Hans, was not rationale, was quite ignorant in his comments on the awake publications. His generalizations about evolution lacking rigorous scientific proof is outright false, as this theory has been contiously been studied & confirmed for almost 200 yrs with abundant data from different scienctific disciplines, ie. Paleobiology, geology, organic chemistry, Ecology, genetics, and molecular biology. All of these disciplines agree about the fundamental occurence of evolution ( although at times the details on processes are being argued and are being updated).

His reference that evolution as a mindless process is for me is only partially true as the evolution of successful traits came from the need to survive & propagate and some element of luck brought about from nature as being an open system.
