Have I really left?

"Have I really left?" is more a philosophical question. In reality, once you take the red pill, you never go back. Your reinstatement effort was not an attempt to go back and tell an auditorium full of people how great it is to be back, it was trying to connect with people. That's over now.

I know I don't have to worry about you changing Halls, but that probably wouldn't work anyway. The original committee from your old Hall still would have to be the ones to reinstate you, and your going somewhere else would reinforce their thoughts that they were right about you while they assume you are looking for elders that don't understand why you are still DF'ed.

This topic brought back memories. It did take me several years before the days of the week all felt the same, with no guilt feelings over not attending meetings or knocking on doors. That was 25 years ago.

    BTOR,

When I listened to Imagine, by John Lennon, as a JW, I thought he was talking about the New system and he had some influence from a JW. Perhaps Michael Jackson? But now I think many people desire a peaceful new world, and that's how us converts get sucked in. They make us think Armaggedon is just around the corner. Sam xx

This made me smile. Its nice to have contact with elders that worry about our family's welfare. I agree with everything you say about changing halls. I even named some elders in other halls who would recomend to my JC not to RI me. They agreed some of them would not be helpful. So I facetiously said, perhaps I should join a cong in Mancester (a different city 40 miles from Liverpool).

OTWO, you are right though. I am never going back to that toxic place. I feel powerless and guilty I cannot release my son from the bonds while his dad has custody.

Thanks for telling me this, it's interesting how habits affect us in the long term. Kate xx
