Thinking of taking a break from this forum

  Starting to feel my time is wasted on here lately and its time to move on.

  Some of the best, meaty stuff only gets a few hundreds views and as soon as the posts dry up a bit the thread is soon forgotten (usually in a few days) under the constantly falling snowflakes of new threads (many trival) continuously being created and popping up as 'Active Topics'. The same core JW related subjects then keep reappearing over and over again as new threads without getting a thorough treatment at the time (eg, there must be at least one 'Are JW's a cult' thread started each week on here; 'new light' topics get about 20 new threads started with the quality of analysis spread and diluted over all of them.)

  Anyone else tend to feel the same way at times?

  Yes, it can feel that way at times. You ought to create an account where you come back as a poorly spelling wt apollogist; you will get 30+ pages without doing anything but copy-pasting!

  Hmmm....my only real motivation in stayingnow is to possibly put some cracks in the entrenched delusions of JW apologists and lurkers like SFPW.

  Yadda, there are some great writer's who only get a miniscule amount of views or participation. So what? Just because you may not get a whole lotta feedback doesn't mean your posts aren't enjoyable.

  Terry is a prolific writer and poster and sometimes his posts are so complete that there's not much left to comment on.

  I could name several others but then I might leave some others out and that may start some feeling slighted, etc.

  If you need a break take one. Then come back so I can ignore some more of your posts!!!

  Earlier, I started to respond to one of your posts( the fire one) and I was so busy looking for a WT quote that after I finally found it was exhausted and just thought I would post on it later.

  Then I thought, oh, that quote has nothing to do with your post, etc. Lol.

  It really doesn't matter. Why be insulted?

  And what difference does it make if people discuss the same things over again. Newbies only see what they see. Some basic things need to be discussed over and over. And some deep things definitely need to be discussed over and over, again and again.

  Well, Yadda, if that's the case, then there's no reason for you to stop posting. 300 something views? Within those three hundred views, I imagine most were fellow posters, but I'm sure there were lurkers amongst them as well. If even it were only one lurker that took the time to see your point, wouldn't that still be a success? What would you say if I told you that I ended up coming across this message board after Googling something about JWs that bothered me which ended up being the subject of a thread here that only lasted one page? That one obscure thread that I can't even remember who posted it or what it was about, ended up hooking me on this forum. That said, so what if your threads dont go three and four pages full of comments. I'm sure a lurker appreciated something you posted of value in response to one of my apologetic posts.

  Not all views are immediate. Many topics get views over many years as new people discover them (usually from Google) so don't imagine that immediate views are the be all and end all.

  Yadda, don't go by views, go by whether it represents you. Sometimes, just one person you help makes it worth it.

  (Yeah, I took a couple of years off, so feel free to disregard what I just said. )

  What is interesting to you might not be all that interesting to others who post here. Lots of people here and they are all different.

  Of course, I'm one of those people who posts trivial stuff. Bite me.
