Yeru, you are correct...the Iraqi bastard (my favorite name for him), would have beaten her either way. He was a typical male from the middle-east....women are nothing and should do as told. Plus my mother refused to have kids (she was 42) and he was furious his family would think he was not fertile.
In spite of my mother being a JW, when she dug her heels in nothing was going to change her mind. When he pushed on oral sex, she refused.
Short explanation:
I found out about the beatings when I came home from college on spring break my senior year (they were married during the summer between my sophomore and jr. year). Her face looked like an eggplant was attached to it. While I was at home that week, Zaia would come home from work, lock himself in the bedroom (right next to mine) and watch porno. Loud. I heard every "UMMMM, Harder, Harder). I knew my mom hated porno and I am sure they fought about it.
I asked her what happened and she told me she stepped on a rake. I knew she was lying. I told her I knew he was beating her. She denied it adamantly. He would record all of our phone calls. When I got back to school I called my mother and told her I knew he was beating her. She tried to Shush me. I told her when I came home (first week of May) that summer, I was going to get him out of the house.
I told her I would say he tried to rape me and then I was going to cut off his dick and throw it out the window. I would call the police and tell them he tried to harm me. Or I would get my friends (who were in Latino gangs in Chicago) to kill him...put a hit and he would be dead. I told her I would pay for it. She was really hysterical, telling me I was wrong and he was a wonderful guy-she knew he would hear our conversation.
During the next 3 months, I called weekly and told her I knew he was beating her and I kept repeating my story...I would get him out.
I arrived home on May 4, 1984 and Zaia had moved out the night before! He thought I was for real. I knew he was listening on the phone....it has an odd hollow sound when someone is on another line in the house. I was bluffing. I never saw him again.
However, I would do whatever it took to protect her from him. I figured that if I came home and he raised his hand to her, I would beat the shit out of him and perhaps stab him if I could find a knife. I would have lied and told the police he tried to rape me.
Luckily I didn't have to...I would have ended up in jail and he would have gotten off.
He did become a citizen by marrying my mother. She refuses to give me the details to this day, however, he used and abused her.
During all the beatings while I was away at school, the elders never helped her in anyway. They were only concerned that she be scripturally free. They got divorced very soon after he left. Their main concern was asking her if she remarried, would she be scripturally free?
She has never even had another boyfriend. Very sad for her.
Sorry to get off subject. However, oral sex was a key issue in both of her failed marriages.

My cousin’s wife 25 years ago died quit young and his wife went on and married some Iraqi guy and the only reason why he married her was to get his US citizenship. After which he got her pregnant and dumped her. His family didn't want him to stay married to a low life, infidel. Never met the guy but he sounds like a real peace of garbage.

My cousin (now a ex-dub) and her now-ex husband (who is still a dub) had oral sex on their wedding night while on their honeymoon several hours from home. The schmuck husband had an attack of conscience in the middle of the night and called the elders at 3 AM to "confess." He didn't even bother waking my cousin up to tell her. She woke up hearing him on the phone, crying like a baby that he had done something awful. They had to face a committee upon return from their honeymoon. Mind you, he didn't see any problem with the fact that they had done the deed before the wedding, but oral sex, oh mercy! no! That was a sin! Hi Ashi,
Yes, he is a gravity-robbing, oxygen-stealing f***dummy, but unfortunately he took *HER* for quite a bit of money. That SOB now has a house and she doesn't, due to taking half the money that they got out of their house when they sold. The original down payment on that house, which was substantial, came from my cousin's trust fund that her mother had established prior to her death in order to care for her and her brothers who are in a group home. He didn't deserve a dime from that, but he has a house, a boat, and a big screen TV now, all thanks to my aunt's provision for her children. I'm hoping his last words are "Oh, a bus!" :p But I'll stop my ramblings now....
