These articles go through a series or writes/rewrites in the Writing Department. One of the guys that wrote some articles could hardly recognize the product that was published almost a year later. As I got more involved with headquarters, the more I realized that what they put together often lacked continuity and wasn't well planned, thought through, or delivered.
hijo, Indeed, hang in there with your studies! As a suggestion, keep a journal during this phase. That's one of the things I wish I would have started sooner. Write down the stupid stuff they say. No need to respond to their nonsense, just write it down for future reference.
One of the things I found was that when someone was going to school, they'd be condemned... but when they graduated, the dubs would line up to try to take advantage of your new skills or better income.
I didn't get asked this much: 'How was the meeting?' Because my response would be along the lines of: "Not many scriptures were used." Or if something might have been directed toward me, I twist, "I noted a lot of different opinions. The material must have been awkward for Sis. X who has a degree and drives an expensive car. Have you talked to her about the value of simplifying her life?" Or in this case, "I've noted that many of the friends are going to worldly educated doctors, should that be stopped?" I'm not an arguer, but some remarks I just can't resist.

The WT conductor tried to imply that the ancient slave only experienced temporary pain (awl through the ear thing) and thus the pain we expereience when slaving for Jehovah is likewise only temporary. I beg to differ, not getting an adequate education and having to do physically taxing work well into middle age with no end in sight!

I believe you might be waiting a while. The US GDP grows, the entitlement payout grows. In this year alone something like 2 trillion. I'm in no way saying that this job is easy, but "all they have to do" to maintain or comfortably consolidate their lifestyle over the next few decades is to hook in enough individuals on government assistance. That number will grow in scale with income disparity and general aging of Boomers. They've got an inexhaustible supply for the next 50 years - all THEY have to do is reach these ones with some predatory promises, love bombs, etc, etc. This will supplement the real loss you mention of contributions from uneducated / underemployed members. imho

I will give a try to your idea. Most of the meetings are boring and stupid. It's the same crap all the days about offering a tract on God's name or asking the householder what he/she thinks about the future. It's all a waste of time! Even the j-dubs know it. For them it's also a sacrifice going there to listen the same thing with the same words today, tomorrow, next week, next month, next year...

I thought they had gone quiet on Higher Education being bad. The fact that they are emphasizing it again shows that they feel threatened. Critical thinking is dangerous because people who have those skills will spot the obvious holes and inconsistences in WBTS BS. I will tell the missus that to avoid the fruits of Satan she whould not ask me for money because it is earnt on the back of university qualifications but instead she should shop using her minimum wage salary. It will be interesting to see her response.
