Take the initiative , dont play the game by his rules only , OK, answer a couple of his questions, then make him do some research with some of your questions .Such as eg., Why does the organization still use the name jehovah when they admit its not the correct pronunciation ( Aid Book ) when their such advocates of the "truth" reminding him it was a catholic monk of the 13th century who invented it , a member of christendom who the WT abhors.

Also, the reliance on christendoms scholars , in doing their research of bible interpretations , not to mention the acceptance of the bible cannon we have today. All by christendoms scholars.

    Some further thoughts:

    12. On the issue of flip-flops and the failure of witness message of doom, it maybe due to lack of understanding of the scripture at that time. Every day, new understanding is perceived. Remember 2Peter 3:16

2 Peter 3:16 makes no mention of new understanding being percieved daily. Can you provide one example, in the 4,000 year history covered by the Bible, of one patriach, prophet, priest, king or Christian that preached or teached something as truth that then had to change it later due to new 'understanding'. That's because there isn't one! And of course why would God act like that? It makes him look like a fool!

    13. The issues you highlighted on more dangers are baseless as I do not see anything wrong in being neutral in times of war or refusal to salute the flag. There are scriptural basis for it e.g. Isaiah 2: 2-4; Deuteronomy 4:16

We're writing these e-mail exchange in English. Had our forebears not shown the fortitude they did, the JW's wouldn't exist and if we ever met we may well have beeing talking in German!

Witnesses enjoy the benefits of a free society yet refuse to support that society (yet it's ok to use violence to protect ones home)

    13. Talking about losing friends and family members as a result of associating with witnesses, I think there is also a scriptural basis for it. Matthew 10: 32-38; Luke 12: 52-53; 14: 25-27

Look at Jeses when his many disciplies left him ( John 6:66). Did he tell those that remained to have nothing to do with them?

There in no suggestion in scripture that family members should be shunned. Not becoming unevenly yoked with unbelievers does not mean total shunning.

    14. On the issue of witness viewpoint, I think it has to do with individuals. Remember how the disciples of Christ were also seeking prominence. Matthew 18: 1-4, Luke 22: 24-27. As for me, doing God's work is most important to me. I do not seek to be elder any day and I do not look forward to it.

A noble sentiment. But before you walk down any such path examine JWfacts.com carefully.

    15. On the issues of excommunication, there is a scriptural basis as well. Remember 2John 8-11

    See 13. above

    16. I did ask the question - Who were the true Christians after the death of the last Apostle? but I did not get any convincing answer. I decided to take it that Jehovah knows best and he will always find a way to get his purpose accomplished

Not having a answer doesn't mean that the JW's are right by default...

    17. Even I have challenges with the behaviour and attitude of people in general. However, I strongly believe Jehovah will use people to reach out to the ones he has chosen without necessarily rewarding all those he may have used. That is the attitude I am using to get along and I have also somehow adopted a neutral approach to avoid being hypocritical or doing eye service. In the same breath, I decided not to take responsibilities other than preaching.

Again, that doesn't mean that the JW's are right...

    18. Although, you have a thorough knowledge of the organization and scriptures than I do, I just thought to respond to you on the issues you have raised. I would have loved that you and your husband never left the organization you have dedicated so much time and energy to work with. You should have seen it as a service for Jehovah and allow the scriptures to be fulfilled regarding molesters. Remember Matthew 18: 6-11, Mark 9: 42. I may not be able to turn you back to the organization because the scriptures itself made known that it is only Jehovah that can attract someone to himself John 6:44-45

Jehovah is not using this Organisation. He can't. They're damaged goods. From false dates to false beliefs (Great Crowd go to heaven - they are not on earth, Jeses is the mediator only all man, not just the 144,000) they are wrong. Remember a little leaven ferments the whole loaf. So if any teachings are false it doesn't matter hopw much is 'right', what is wrong is the issue.

    12. On the issue of flip-flops and the failure of witness message of doom, it maybe due to lack of understanding of the scripture at that time. Every day, new understanding is perceived. Remember 2Peter 3:16

    *** Deuteronomy 18:20-22 ***
However, the prophet who presumes to speak in my name a word that I have not commanded him to speak or who speaks in the name of other gods, that prophet must die. And in case you should say in your heart: "How shall we know the word that Jehovah has not spoken?" when the prophet speaks in the name of Jehovah and the word does not occur or come true, that is the word that Jehovah did not speak. With presumptuousness the prophet spoke it. You must not get frightened at him.

    *** Ezekiel 13:8-9 ***
Therefore this is what the Sovereign Lord Jehovah has said: "‘For the reason that YOU men have spoken untruth and YOU have visioned a lie, therefore here I am against YOU,’ is the utterance of the Sovereign Lord Jehovah." And my hand has come to be against the prophets that are visioning untruth and that are divining a lie. In the intimate group of my people they will not continue on.

    *** Psalms 107:27 ***
They reel and move unsteadily like a drunken man, And even all their wisdom proves confused.

    *** Isa 5:18 ***
Woe to those drawing error with ropes of untruth.

    *** Matthew 7:15-16, 18 ***
Be on the watch for the false prophets that come to YOU in sheep’s covering, but inside they are ravenous wolves. By their fruits YOU will recognize them. Never do people gather grapes from thorns or figs from thistles, do they? 18 A good tree cannot bear worthless fruit.

    *** Galatians 2:18 ***
For if the very things that I once threw down I build up again, I demonstrate myself to be a transgressor.

    *** 1 Timothy 4:1-3 ***
However, the inspired utterance says definitely that in later periods of time some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to misleading inspired utterances and teachings of demons, 2 by the hypocrisy of men who speak lies.

    *** James 1:7, 8 ***
In fact, let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from Jehovah; 8 he is an indecisive man, unsteady in all his ways.

For me, Galatians is the clincher. They 'prove' by many words and scriptures that something cannot be true, then later revise that to 'prove' by many words and scripture why that has to be true.

Take for example Rev 22:12 (Alpha and Omega) which they have flip-flopped on NINE times going between it meaning either Jesus or Jehovah.
Or the NINE times they flip-flopped between allowing various blood components, yes or no.
Or the EIGHT times they changed whether Mt 24:14 has been fulfilled already or not.
Or the TEN times they've flipped between whether those destroyed in Sodom will be resurrected, yes or no.
Or the THIRTY SEVEN different teachings on who 2Co 11:13 (false apostles) refers to.
Or the ELEVEN changes to whom Jesus is a mediator for.
Or the THIRTEEN changes to who are considered 'ordained ministers'.
They even can't decide if chess is safe to play, saying No, then Yes, then No, then Yes!!
Or the FIVE changes to who is the Lord in Rom 10:13.
Or the FIVE versions of whether Jesus had a beard, yes or no.
What about the EIGHT dates that the Anointed were finally sealed.
Or the TEN versions of what is "the sin that easily entangles us" (Heb 12:1).
They have even changed their mind FOURTEEN times on when the League of Nations was proposed, and that's a researchable date!

I think the men either do have problems with the answers on all these questions, or he is just a disguised elder who wants to nail you or make you a fool if you answer one of these questions in a not proper way. If I were you, I would only take all these questions in one sack turn them back to him (perhaps a little bit converted) and ask him why he does not ask the elders in his congregation for the answer. This naturally in his own name openly and amongst all other friends. If he does, he will have no chance do get baptized or if he is baptized, he will be Df.sh.

I think that such an experience will make him understand that the org. is not guided by god, but by greedy men, just concerning of their own power.

I see lots of signs that he is suspending disbelief in order to accept all the teachings. Does this really sound like the "one and true" organization if he already has to set aside so many questions?

    4. I understand your emotional feeling as a woman regarding the molestation of teenage girls and women by members of the organization and the manner the in which the policies are applied in managing the issues, but shouldn't you have waited for Jehovah's own time? Deuteronomy 32:35

I'm glad someone brought up Romans 13:1-7. Those scriptures basically outline that the earthly authorities are God's ministers. When they use the sword he gave them, they are doing his will.

Here in Texas we have a law that states it is a crime to fail to report:

Sec. 261.109. FAILURE TO REPORT; PENALTY. (a) A person commits an offense if the person has cause to believe that a child's physical or mental health or welfare has been or may be adversely affected by abuse or neglect and knowingly fails to report as provided in this chapter.

    (b) An offense under this section is a Class A misdemeanor, except that the offense is a state jail felony if it is shown on the trial of the offense that the child was a person with mental retardation who resided in a state supported living center, the ICF-MR component of the Rio Grande State Center, or a facility licensed under Chapter 252, Health and Safety Code, and the actor knew that the child had suffered serious bodily injury as a result of the abuse or neglect.

So, a person who fails to report is looking at spending up to a year in the county jail or 2 years in prison if the child is mentally retarded if they do not report child abuse to the authorities.

Most of his questions assume the premise that the WT is "God's organization and channel of communication" and, by extention, that the interpretation of the "proof-texts" he cites is correct. He needs to provide evidence to support his extraordinary claims FIRST.
