I am appalled to think my wife will lap this crap up and there is nothing I can do about it and yet she is happy to ask me for money and rely on me to provide for in every way including her retirement for she has saved nothing and I have saved a lot. Soooooo frustrating.
April 2014 WT is up, more attacks on career and unbelieving family!

ENDOFMYSTERIES - Man oh man this organization's writing committee and leaders are F%c&ed 6 ways from Sunday- aren't they ? I mean, come on- to tell people that you cannot enjoy your job or pursue putting aside for retirement then expecting your adult children to care for your needs ? Yet they cannot set aside either for the future ? And then the quote about rank & file JW's being the problem in how they VIEW perceived offenses by the elders. Is it any wonder these people are soooooo..... mind controlled or messed up ? Makes my blood boil

Julia Orwell and Flipper have hit the nail on the head. In the same pargraph they say children and grandchildren must support their JW parents, it goes on to say we should not try to get financial security or plan for a financialy secure future! WTF?? Its a self fulfilling pro[hecy. How will JW children be able to support their parents when they are just as broke?

What a mind F--k this must be to mentally in JWs. If you werent mentally ill already, this will do it. Their illogical delusional advice has worn thin after 100+ years of the same horses--t.

flipper - Exactly. I hate how the cost of living is majorly increasing, if any good comes of it, it may wake people up. With forced insurance or penalty with obamacare, food, electric, insurances, rent, everything going up, those who didn't prepare for retirement and those who like Sophia in the example soon won't be able to make ends meat, might realize those men in headquarters are talking out of their heiny.
Their spin also doesn't make logical sense. If somebody pursues a good paying job/career, they label it as materialistic/putting God 2nd place.
Somebody who spends 2 to 4 years getting an education to earn 40 to 100k a year on average vs somebody who just earns 15 to 25k a year.
In a family, both husband and wife will be forced to work if they follow WT advice, vs possibly only the husband if the wife wants to care for kids or pioneer. Also if they earn more, they can work less which means more service and more donations.
They are just obsessed with controlling every aspect of someones life. I am starting to put together a page/information quoting phrases for every little detail of control they do, already it includes things such as instructions on during a wedding how many guests you can invite, if you have people over your home on how loud the volume of music should be and how much somebody can talk until you need to tell them to let others talk, etc.

ENDOFMYSTERIES- Very true what you say. Hey - that's a really great idea you are doing putting together a list of how the WT Society micromanages and controls virtually EVERY aspect of a JW's life. I like it. Very good idea. I eagerly look forward to you starting another thread hopefully itemizing the things you've discovered. Very good project to do. Hopefully it will open other lurking JW's eyes who are sitting on the fence thinking of exiting the organization. Kudos to you on your project ! Thanks for pursuing it

I wonder if Sophie was raised a witness. Becoming a proffesional ballerina takes years and years of practice every day from a very early age. Like Andre I believe they pulled this one out of their ass also.
