Poor Sophie gave up here career, but meanwhile, Serena Williams continues on her quest for yet another tennis Grand Slam championship this week, and if she wins, you can bet she'll thank Jehovah for all she has accomplished.

And bear in mind, I'm not blaming Ms Williams one bit. I applaud her for pursuing a rewarding career. I pity "Sophie" for surrendering the chance for the same thing.

And meanwhile, "Sophie" depends totally on her husband, apparently, for support, and has no skills of her own to rely on should her marriage tank.

Hope my sister sees this article. She loved ballet when she was a wee little kid, and apparantly caught the eye of a ballet teacher who even offered her free ballet classes. She had super rarely good feet. Mum refused ballet classes because of strong devotion to JW. 55 years later, mom is dead and not being able to even do ballet is a super sore spot with my sister today.

In the same pargraph they say children and grandchildren must support their JW parents, it goes on to say we should not try to get financial security or plan for a financialy secure future! WTF??

    It's double-speak.

This way they can quote whatever part of the statement that fits the individual situtation.

Young single person going to college, or younger Dub going to seek promotion or better job: You should avoid Higher Education and pioneer since we are SO CLOSE to The End.

Old couple (above) that pioneered and didn't/couldn't save a dime for retirement: You should call your Christian (or any other) children as they are obligated to assist their family.

Old couple's children are told that failing to care for your elderly parents makes you worse than a person of the world. (Too bad you can barely support yourself since you didn't get any kind of good education. Guess you'll have to wash more windows.)

Okay.....and who is going to support the elderly ones who seriously believed "woe to the pregnant woment and those suckling in those days" and did not have a family but instead devoted their life to pioneering and/or "special" service????? There was a time when reproducing was seriously frowned upon....and those people are now octogenarians mostly.

And I don't believe a word of the Sophie "experience". They make those up.....in order for someone to get to the point with ballet that they are invited to professional companies such as NYCB, they have been in prep schools for that for years.....and those schools are affiliated with the ballet companies and those kids live away from home. What uber-witnesss would let their kid do that in the first place??? They really ought to research facts more thoroughly. Sophie may have had ballet lessons as a kid and had a dream of a ballet career - but if she was raised a witness, her training was NOT of the sort that leads to top notch ballet corps recruitment. And if I am wrong, these kids are getting away with a helluva lot more these days than we did growing up.

Young people, take these treasured gifts ( talent ), but don't open it

    Store these treasures in heaven.

    .

    .

Where accordin' to what the Jehovah's Witnesses teach , you will never use it

Because as your reward for your services, you will remain on earth in the new system

where you will be put though another test of loyalty

    after you passed the first

    .

    .

And even then, you still won't get to use the treasures you stored in heaven.

because you'll be able to live in a paradise on earth

    full of broken Promises

    .

    .

So don't expect beef tips and gravy, or ham

As for the little kiddies, don't you dare ask for a cheese burger in " Paradise "

    Cuz it'll make Jehovah sad

    .

    .

Wives, don't look sideways at you husbands, don't even think about that former thing

for Jehovah will plucketh your eyes out

Because there's a ban on meat in " Paradise "
