NASA Identifies The Hand of God

Well that's obvious. The process can be traced forward and backwards. The last cause can be identified by the last effect. So it follows that the first cause can be identified by the first effect.

It seems that some people are willing to deal with one more cause than others are.

Enough nebulous talk: can you just tell everyone what you're trying NOT to say, i.e. what is the 'first cause' AND 'the first effect'?

And what is the value, the "purpose" or benefit to humanity to be obtained from seeing these "signs" (which only became visible, BTW, thanks to clever mortals, since they're not visible to the naked eye)? Is it some kind of message?

Because in lieu of any better hypotheses, I'm leaning towards Perry having a terminal case of pareidolia.

Perry, pretty pictures, like these you present,... prove what?

Oh they don't prove anything. It's just a nice backdrop while discussing the First Cause.

And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years: - Genesis 1: 14

    Meanwhile, back on earth.....

Those terrible effects are far, far removed from the first effect which identifies the First Cause. Perhaps other causes produced these effects?

Come on, Perry: answer the question, and cut the nonsense of what you might think of as a poetic approach (when it's rather pompous, a talentless person's approach to 'paint-by-the-numbers' poetry. You're NO Compound Complex....).

    1) What IS this nebulous "first cause" you keep speaking of? Why not just spit it out and say it? Are you trying NOT to say "Jehovah"?

    2) What is the "first effect"? Are you trying NOT to say "The Universe"?

"God created the Universe"? Is that what you're trying to say in a round-about way?

If so, then NO WONDER the Bible is so cryptic: Jesus set the trend by his rampant use of parables, a means to confuse the masses he claimed to supposedly "teach".

my point is, if people think god, the 'first cause', is out there in space making making pretty images for spacecraft to take pictures of, it begs the question: why is nothing done about greater issues here on earth....where humans actually live? Wouldn't solving problems and easing suffering be a better way for god to spend his time?

How do you know nothing is being done? There are many portraits of miserable humans having their situations turned around by God. These are ususally discounted as accidents, or attributed to another cause by the doubtful. I think maybe what you want is a situation where failure is impossible? The answer as to why this is not provided by God is because all causes produce effects, not just the First One.

There is real skin in this thing called existence. There are winners and losers. The good news is that winning is available to all.

Perry: How do you know nothing is being done?

ADCMS: How do you know something is being done?

Perry: There is real skin in this thing called existence. There are winners and losers.

    I agree. It's called "life".

The bigger question for the "faithful" to answer is this: if you believe god is helping some people, then it shows he is capable of doing it if he wants to. So, then, how do you explain that the vast majority of humans, despite their prayers and faith, do not get the same favor from god as the select few?

Heck, there's entire websites for this kind of stuff:

    Here's a stingray:

Earlier today it was reported that a South Carolina woman discovered Jesus on the back of a dead stingray that washed ashore. The woman, Erica Scheldt, took pictures because she originally thought the image just looked like a "bearded homeless man." She had yet to learn that any apparent body or face is obviously Jesus!
