If you're in NE Ohio, my husband and I would be happy to meet you. I've been out for 26 years and was never a jw in Ohio,

I have done meet-ups in NYC. This group was quite active. But with the activities of live in our way we have not met for quite a while. Althought I understand there was a group attending the "Truth be Told" movie last week. It was too cold for me to leave home.

If any one is in NYC, let me know. Perhaps we can get together.

I have met many xJWs in real life. Exceptionally good experiences for me.

However, I have heard just a handful of problems from other people on JWN. So I suppose it makes sense to keep your distance and anonimity if you are still trying to fade.

It's a pity, because there is something so very special about being able to look someone in the eye and tell your story. And to hear their's.

If you were in California, I know quite a few people you can trust...

I feel sorry for you. It's sad when your whole identity and feeling of mental health revolves so completely around the JW world. You must still be quite badly ensconced in it all somehow, staying in and leading a double life for family reasons I'm assuming?

I am hesitant to meet anyone because I am fading. I don't want to DA or get DF'd. I feel like I need someone to vouch for the reputation of anyone I may meet.

DATA, I understand your line of reasoning: What if I met someone who later decides to "go back" to the Borg and "gets a conscience" about anyone who has shared apostate reasonings with them.

How sad that we still live in fear of the Borg.
