I am ready for spring, which should arrive here at the end of February or March. I have planted a lot of bulbs so I like watching my croccus, hyacints, tulips, and daffodils to come up. Spring is blessing for my garden where I have dozens of rhododendrons, camellias, gardenias, mountain laurels, and azelas blooming from March to May. I am hoping that polar vertex did not damaged them. I have several projects in mind, want to cut two trees that a leaning and plant some shrubs there. I want extend driveway to the fence. Right now due cold weather, I am playing my Skyrim game that I got on Xmas.
So what are you up to?

Gardening -- looking forward to it. I only have a plot in a community garden, so don't have a lot of scope for planting. But the garden is a great place to be, I like sitting out there in the evenings, watching the dragonflies and birds and looking at all the different garden plots.

Kaik your garden must be so beautiful, I love rhododendrons, camellias, gardenias, mountain laurels and azelas. Spring is my favourite time of year too, watching the bulbs come up, I've planted mainly miniature daffs and tulips.
I have an ash tree, field maple, holly and juniper and have had to have three trees chopped down. This garden was crammed with trees when we moved in. I have several projects too, growing more veg, gradually, I'm not growing enough for a small army!
If anyone knows how to kill off spreading Lamium - that's my other project. Previous owners planted it and it's taking over the garden. It spreads underground by runners and I can't get rid of it. Any tips would be gratefully received - by the way I have four cats and can't use poison.

I am turning my yard into my Garden of Eden without waiting for the big "A". Previous owners did not cared about the yard, so I have planted about 50 shurbs and put new lawn and flowerbeds. It is never ending project, but it relax me from the hours in the office. I wish I could figure out how to insert pics of some of the flowers. I like rhododendron with their big flowers. I had notices that my bloom profoundly every other year. I have also rhododendron that bloom yellow and orange. I lost one rhododendron due summer heat that was from Caucasus. I have several camellias, from which three were imported by local Camellia society. However, they will not bloom in spring as the polar vertex burned their buds and they were too stressed this winter. I was never lucky with mountain laurels, loved them for their flowers and see them all over the Appalachians. I have three left under big magnolia, so far they are alive. They are the biggest disappointment. I have gardenias facing the north, they do not like direct sun. I put them among french hydrangeas, so they bloom the same time. This year I want to cut two trees that posses hazard due leaning, but the tree cutting is so expensive. My biggest enemy in the garden are squirrels that pick on everything. The best way to deal with unwanted weed is herbicide. I learned the hard way as I had poision ivy and had to go to emergency room. Plus previous owners planted some asiatic flowers that are superinvasive and when they get picked in, they cause skin rashes. After two years of fighting them, I went the chemical warfare against them. Also Xanthipe, I would recommend to rent dethatcher and loosen up the top soil and destroy the runners.

I am busy trying to drum up some group business for my company. I sell LegalShield and enjoy working with small business, groups and truck drivers. Right now, I am working on some leads for groups of truck drivers (know any employee groups?- send them my way!) I am traveling to Florida and Vegas and Seattle soon.
My son is visiting his bio dad (for first time ever-in India) later this month. My MIL is ill and we may be travling overseas soon to visit her. We seem to be surrounded by a lot of dying people these days (watch out!) so my husband is feeling anxious about his mum.
i just learned to play a card game (gin rummy?-or something) that I seem to be pretty good at. Today my husband and I are shopping for a house here in Houston. we are still deciding whether we'd prefer a house or townhome kind of thing, but that is what today is all about. Sorting a bit.
My granndaughter is a year old and brilliant and gorgeous. She has big brown eyes, curly brown hair and she kinda looks like shes up to mischief-but that is cause she usuallly is!
So, that's what I am doing.

Great stuff Hortensia! Thank You for sharing. We're touching on cancer metastasis right now in complex Med-Surg and I find it fascinating.

My husband and I faced the same decision when we moved to the bay area three years ago. We are getting older, so didn't want a big yard, and moving from a less expensive area, we simply couldn't afford a house in most places. We looked at Condos, but couldn't find any we liked, plus you then had steep HOA fees to pay, it ended up being more expensive than a single family home. It took a while, looking at many different areas, but we found a home with a small yard, just enough to grow a few things, but no grass to mow. It's in a small town that was hit harder than many areas and prices had dropped significantly due to the recession. It was a lot of work and stressful waiting through the short sale process, but worth it in the end, our house was half of what it originally sold for. We love our house and are enjoying all the things to do in this area, San Francisco, the Wine Country, Berkely, etc.
Grandchildren are the best! She sounds adorable. I have two, one grandson, 19, the other is a five year old girl. The five year old was a bit of a miracle, her mom had been told she would never be able to get pregnant, it was a very happy surprise.

I like gardening, it helps keep me outside a lot in the summer and it's fun.
Myofascial release isn't the same as lymph drainage massage -- it focuses on the connective tissue rather than on lymph circulation. However, it does have some effect on lymph circulation, because most of your lymph vessels are located in the superficial layer of connective tissue right under the skin. Stretching connective tissue moves the lymph vessels and they respond to gentle movement by contracting.
