The UN couldn't destroy a cockroach in a bug spray factory, and you think they will somehow muster the power to "destroy organized religion"?

Step back, take a deep breath, and bang your head against the wall until you acquire a bit of perspective.

It is NOT persecution of the Roman Catholic Church. The United Nations has no enforcement power. It is a political show. The Vatican will survive. Do you have any clue what the Vatican has survived throughout different historical period. Murder of popes by competing popes. Probaly a female pope. Massive poisinings. Invasion by kings. Popenappings. Popes and antipopes. We only know the relatively sedate years. I have not researched the power of this UN committee, whether the Vatican agreed to scrutiny (I believe they did). Unlike the Witnesses, many members of the RCC now understand the nature of pedophilia. I don't know what their present settlement process is.

What I do hear is that the laity of the RCC is furious about how the church officials sheltered pedophiles and transferred them to new parishes with no notice of allegations at the previous parish. My sister and brother in law live in rural PA. Many members of their parish refuse to donate any funds into the collection plate. They take the money once given during the Offertory and contribute to approved Catholic charities. Can anyone imagine Witnesses doing the same?

How many people will even remember this report in six months? This is absolute proof that the Witnesses are too insular. Well, more people will appreciate what looney tunes the Witnesses are. I am now sixty. Last night's celebration of the Beatles 50 th anniversary performance on the Ed Sullivan show brought home to me that it just did not happen yesterday. Armageddon always terrified me. There was no praise ever at the KH. I was an elementary and junior high student in the college track. I attended a violent joke of a public school. If I could teach myself, I needed my nonschool hours to learn what was not being taught. No matter what I did Witness wise, it was never good enough. My entire family found themselves Jehovah deficient. More and more numb skull junk was required. School did not matter. Friends did not matter. Recreation did not matter. Strange weather patterns, the entire Cold War-I was ready to be slain. Armageddon and the Russians ( no one called them Soviets). When I realized, I would never survive an A bomb attack b/c NYC was so close, I was elated. Next, do I want to live forever with the KH crowd? No music. No TV. banned books. No. It is my vision of hell, not paradise.

The UN won't turn on any religiion. There are a high number of cults among members of the international civil servants. The UN is toothless. Anyway, did the U nited Federation of Planets turn on religion? No. The United Federation is 1,000 times more powerful than the UN. If anyone Witness believes that bs, it shows the power of brainwashing. Of course, reading a decent newspaper is prob. an apostate act.

The longer I am out, the sillier and destructive the WTS appears to me. They have no knowledge of anything. Most particularly, they don't know the Bible contents. What the Witnesses do is what the CIA does on foreign shores. It reminds me of the Star Trek episode where Kirk and crew encounter some Native American looking aliens. In the last few minutes, a tattered US flag is brought in. Kirk can't figure out their pledge. Finally, he realizes it and tells them how to pronounce the pledge. The Vulcans need to help Witnesses.

Gold C, you have to define"attacking the Catholic church" on behalf of the UN. If the UN was outside of the vatican with a few tanks, or pressing them legally on some cause, then I would say lets talk.

They are not.

They simply stated they believe the Catholic CHurch needs to do a better job of protecting its members from predators and abuse. NOTE......the censure had NOTHING to do with religion, but only with a church policy that has done great harm in recent decades.

How in the world could this reasonably relate to turning against all religions on the planet and destroying them?

Theres no proof that the UN is the Harlot and there are several things that have to take place before the tribulation will break out, One being the man of lawlessness will be revealed. Check out 2thess chapter 2. And don't think running back to the JW's will save you, for I have only found one scripture in the NT where someone was able to get into the kingdom of god without being in the new covenant. Thats when the robber on the cross next to Jesus begged him to be remembered.
