X: I found their conclusions unconvincing... why would I not use my own brain and decide for myself

You are entitled to your opinions... no one is saying otherwise. However, realize your opinions do not constitute facts or evidence. Certain individuals here, you included, took issue with the idea that women in power could display brutality and cruelty equally comparable to men (Yadda calling the mere idea "utter balderdash"). You asked for a link, I provided one, which offered evidence supporting the idea. You chose to blast that information under the guise of you don't think it's "academic". Well, unless you are an archaeologist who's worked on these sites and examined the evidence for yourself, formed a hypothesis regarding said evidence, then had your hypothesis peer reviewed to authenticate your ideas, and a theory formulated based on substantiation of your hypothesis is accepted, then you are in no position to invalidate their claims simply because you "found their conclusions unconvincing". You may choose to believe the earth is flat because current evidence leaves you "unconvinced", but that doesn't change the evidence and how others choose to interpret it.

X: I wanted to show the pieces of pottery because they, along with the other artefacts, burial grounds and female skeletons are the primary sources. From these sources they have to draw their conclusions.
Yes, this is what archaeologists do. You'll just have to learn to live with it. It is a sad fact of life that archaeologists dig stuff up, compare all the evidence, then form theories as best they can from that evidence. Until a magic wand is invented that does a better job, that's all we have.

X: Being told what to believe and told how dare you question our expertise is what got us into this mess in the first place. Never again!
The only person asserting this is you...no one here said it....
