Suppose 10% of your nation were hardcore fanatics who can act as one - and they refuse to serve in the army or get jobs!

AND they are the fastest growing group with a high birthrate....... Some of the protest photos of them filling the streets are impressive.

Many people don't understand that Israel is headed into big trouble and instability. There is an emerging sense that Zionism as a political movement is in trouble inside and out amidst growing isolation.

I wonder how born agains would react if their favorite 'fufillment of prophecy' vanished into a democratic Palestine.

I have no idea what your point is. Israel will be around.

Not as a religious nation, as a secular one, by majority.

The O.P makes a good point.

The land grab by Israel to shove Palestinians off their lands is and will have long term consequences.

Remember the Orthodox believe in such scriptures as Deut. 2 and Joshua 8 where their god ordered genocide.

Band, you still posting here? I'd thought you left.

I'm sorry if my view of Israel upsets you but I see this crisis as trending towards world peace - of which I am in favor.

I see the possibility that the US could push Israel into being a democratic Palestine and shift AWAY from the Sunnis/Saudis and towards Iran. I think this would improve the world greatly. I see demographics as forcing Zionism into fading away...

Keep dreaming, Met! The conservative block isn't going anywhere, in spite of what the weak president of the USA wants.

There's never going to be any kind of peace on that strip of land as long as two conflicting philosophies try to claim it for their own. I don't think Israel should have moved in and taken over based on the idea that god gave it to them or they used to live there. I'm not a big fan of the palestinians and their ways but that was their property and Israel will probably have a really difficult time holding on to it. In the past Britain felt it owned half the world and the land was theirs to give but the cultures that live on it have a very different idea.

Isra-HELL doesn't deserve to exist, and that is judged by their continual actions. Starting when they first entered that land, they slaughtered natives simply because they did not worship their god joke-hova. They destroyed everyone there, they destroyed the whole culture, they destroyed surrounding nations, and they made sure anyone not worshiping joke-hova was punished, usually by death. Is this the hallmark of a nation that deserves to exist?

As if this wasn't bad enough, they spawned Christi-SCAM-ity. That disgrace of a religion spread from Jerusalem to the whole region, then to Europe and Africa, then to other parts of the world. And, wherever it went, it brought destruction of culture with it. It brought the Dark Ages to Europe, where it was a death offense to even question whatever the church said. It infested Africa, causing Negroes to be kidnapped and pulled to other parts of the world against their will, to be sold as slaves. Families were busted up. Even today, Christi-SCAM-ity sends missionaries to blow up artifacts of pagan worship and to get everyone into its grips. Remember, it all started in Israel. Sounds like a nation that deserves to exist?

Today is no better. Everywhere Israel invades surrounding territories, they harass Palestinians that are doing nothing but minding their own business. And they make it illegal for them to defend themselves. Recently, they have air-bombed parts of Palestine for nothing--then they whine when Palestine fires rockets back at them. And in recent years, they have initiated stupid wars--look up what Israel did to the USS Liberty in 1967 for yourself. This disgrace of a nation does not act like a nation that deserves to exist. They do not leave others alone. They do not build up nations. They only destroy and tear down. They have, directly or through Christi-SCAM-ity, destroyed ancient cultures and replaced them with rubbish. People do not know how to use their souls or raise energy today, thanks to this disgrace of a program (remember, even Jesus came from Israel, and so the whole thing had to be credited as starting there). Sounds like a nation that deserves to exist?

And no, I am not going to be "politically correct". Any nation with the disgraceful history of destroying peoples and cultures this extensively does not deserve to be defended. It is not like destroying one culture to make room for a better one--they destroyed cultures to trash nations. The xians have ruined Africa, corrupting the governments (Islam must also share some of the blame--which stems from Christi-SCAM-ity and hence shares Israeli heritage), and kidnapping people to be sold as slaves. Does this sound like enhancing cultures?

The problem of Orthodox Jews having too much power in Israel has existed since I first started reading newspapers. Secular Jews stay and protest. Israel is a complex nation. It is doing well. Would I choose to live there if I were secular? Probably not. Israel will remain Israel. I don't see how Israel changing will solve the entrenched poverty in Africa, or end the problems in the Ukraine. Sorry, I was a politcal science major. I am no dope.

If you saw a protest sign that said "Israel Is Not Of God", would it surprize you that it was held by an Ultra-Orthodox Jew? Who rejects Zionism because God didn't create Israel? The government is trying to end 60 YEARS of exemptions.

By 2019, most schoolkids in Israel will be Arabs or the refusenik Ultra-orthodox. Try running an exclusively Zionist country with that.

I follow MondoWeiss which chronicles the progress of sanctioning Israel as an apartheid state. And no, this isn't "fringe" or crackpot stuff - it's exactly what Kerry and Obama are warning about.

If you don't think Israel is worried about this trend, I suggest you read the headlines at the Jerusalem Post - any day you wish.

Getting rid of political Zionism AND Saudi support for terrorism would benefit world peace greatly.
