Hi
I have been lurking for a while but was encouraged to sign up by a user on the Ex JW reddit forum. I'm a still in JW but I've been mentally out for about two months. I'm an MS and I'm also gay so I have two lots of 'coming out' to do very soon!
Hopefully I'll be able to get some encouragement from this forum!

Welcome! I think most people in a tight situation feel better if they have a plan. You might map out your gradual stepping down of responsibilities. One way to do that is become very bad at it (i.e. forget to show up), especially if your request to reduce your responsibilities is refused. This is a volunteer role.
Have you hooked up with a local LGBT support group? They have a lot of experience dealing with rejection on coming out and they could be an excellent resource.

You don't say where you are but if you are in the UK there are some great Ex-JW support groups that could help you through it all.
Move away and ask not to be reappointed. Then fade.
@jgnt yes I have a hazy exit plan. I have already had my responsibilities removed at my request. My exit plan involves moving far away so I don't think an LGBT support group will be much help, yet.
@cantleave, yes I'm in the UK. Where can I find these support groups?
@kneehighmiah I don't really have the patience or desire to fade. I intend on just stopping. I'm mentally prepared for the consequences.
