I don't really have the patience or desire to fade. I intend on just stopping. I'm mentally prepared for the consequences.
Ask many faders and some will say they should have just stopped. Welcome to the forum. Strength to you.

Welcome, glad you found your way out of the mental bondage of the ugly lie that is the JW belief system. We all get to this point in our own way, but in the end what matters is that we did get out, we did break free.
Enjoy your freedom.
You have probably seen this, but an experience of a gay JW

I intended to fade, that was my plan, but in the end I just walked away. The thing is really I think, that with fading, you only delay the day when the family asks "Why?", so just stopping may bring that day closer, but so what ?
In my case, I went from being the very best Meeting attender ever, just never missed, was never ill, rarely had a holiday, from that to just not being there.
I thought I would get the questions from the family fairly quickly, nope, took 'em six months. I got a visit shortly after from two Elders wishing to DF me, but they would not have called by if I had kept my big trap shut.
Cold Turkey was O.K in my case.
Good luck !

If youre not an MS stopping works fine. But at least in my area they won't even accept your resignation without interrogation. That's why I plan to move away myself.

Welcome Bluefluff, DITTO what other members have written - lots of good advice. Were you born into the WTBTS?
If you were a born-in, have you read any books by cult-exit counselors, like Steve Hassan (i.e., "Combatting Cult Mind Control", "Releasing the Bonds: Empowering People to Think for Themselves", and (his latest book) "Freedom of Mind: Helping Loved Ones Leave Controlling People, Cults and Beliefs"), visited his website www.freedomofmind.com, and/or watched his FREE videos on his website? A person can leave a dangerous cult like the WTBTS, but the WTBTS's BITE control indoctrination is very powerful. You might heal faster after learning about overcoming WTBTS induced phobias and how to overcome you using thought-stopping platitudes
Are you thinking about getting more education/training so that you qualify for a better paying career?
Peace be with you and everyone, who you love,
Robert
