carla,
Interesting find. Thanks for that. Kate xx
Comments by jws on a DB do not represent the official stance of the WTS. Some jws might die during the big A due to medical circumstances but not due to execution by God, Jesus, the angels, or the anointed in heaven already. All non-jws will be executed by God or his heavenly assistants at the big A, including their minor children, eternally. Who will not be resurrected who died before the big A, Adam, Eve, (Cain), everyone killed at Sodom and Gomorrah and the flood, unspecified religious leaders of Jesus day, Judas, (Ananias/Sapphira).
Whereas the WTS has stated in writing many places that only people baptized as jws have any hope of not being executed. Since many jws have spouses, adult children, parents, etc., that aren't jws, they don't like to dwell on that and have convenient memories.

"Only Jehovah's Witnesses, those of the anointed remnant and the "great crowd," as a united organization under the protection of the Supreme Organizer, have any Scriptural hope of surviving the impending end of this doomed system dominated by Satan the Devil." Watchtower 1989 Sep 1 p.19
"Similarly, Jehovah is using only one organization today to accomplish his will. To receive everlasting life in the earthly Paradise we must identify that organization and serve God as part of it." Watchtower 1983 Feb 15 p.12Just as Noah and his God-fearing family were preserved in the ark, survival of individuals today depends on their faith and their loyal association with the earthly part of Jehovahs universal organization." Watchtower 2006 May 15 p.22 "Are You Prepared for Survival?"

I think the real reason for "field serve-us" is that it is a visible yardstick by which the religion can measure and judge how "faithful" the individual JWs are.
Also, public door knocking is the religion's claim to fame, so they need somebody to be doing this or else the world might conclude that the JWs have given up. They can't have anybody believing that now, can they? So, this is probably the reason they still do it even though few people are at home (the large majority being at work).
And the "higher" up you go in the religion, the less F.S. is done.
thanks for the time and clearing it up for me Blondie!

haha I like that. On another thread someone posted a picture of Samual Herd doing the ministry (probably OUTLAW). They don't actually participate they just get involved with photo oppotunities. Kate xx
The WTS. from its earliest history created the FS intensionally to distribute its own published literature, entailing their own
deviously concocted doctrines to catch the attention of the publics eye.
They claimed of course that they are just spreading the word of the gospel as the first century Christians did.
.
In reality the WTS's version of preaching Gospel is one that is commercially adulterated, designed to
proliferate the WTS. own published goods, in doing so creating power and wealth for the WTS.
.
People gave a huge amount of money, property and work to preaching this corrupt version of the Gospel
by the Watchtower Publishing house.
Anybody remember door to door Encylopaedia salesmen?
....I heard Twat Boozerford used to be one. Is it true? If so there's an interesting line of questioning.
Field Service is for one purpose only - TO COUNT TIME !
It is true that once prior to becoming a lawyer, Rutherford was once a door to door salesman.
The coincidence of Russell being a professional salesman also in his career has some relevance
toward him starting the WTS. publishing house and to a further extent Rutherford taking over the
WTS. as appealing business venture.
