It seems to sync up with news that the GB will be giving talks on Jumbotron or whatever. Less for DO's to do.
Perhaps they have a rationalization in this that they are simply returning to 1st Century conditions in which they had guys like Paul doing the circuits and the GB in Jerusalem ( in their view).
I gotta wonder however - when does this seemingly endless series of cutbacks conclude? If cost and liability are the motivation, then they still have to get C.O.'s off the payroll with some other scheme in mind. It's still a hierarchy with one less layer and I see that as a big potential problem.
If they are downsizing the assemblies/conventions ( as they seem to be, because the friends are broke) then that's one less money maker for them.
I can't imagine why they are so eager to build in upstate NY, given the circumstances. If this keeps up, they will be left with an Organization of 9 million or so that is little more than a largely broke and dependent lump. And with them pushing the "JW.ORG" site, why do they need publishers anyway?
It may get more radical yet.
