Wayne Johnson. Scully has made an interesting post about him. Lois lane also made a post I believe.

He was our co years ago but I didn't know him as a district overseer. He must be a real jerk for so many to mention him in bad light.

Al Murray, now there is a real a hole DO. I'm not sad to see him put out to pasture

Perhaps an additional "simplification" would be to stop printing all of the various publications and focus one just one. Like the, er, bible?

After thinking about this a bit more, it may not really be that momentous.

IIRC, there are about 600 COs in the US. There's what, 10 or 15 circuits per district? So there's maybe 40 or 50 DOs altogether, in the country with the biggest JW population.

There are almost certainly 40 or 50 (probably more) COs & DOs over 70, who will be forcibly retired.

So this could be just a manner to keep everyone "employed" without adding new bodies to the "payroll". Elimination of 40 or 50 jobs, out a population of, what - maybe 4000 or so, counting Bethelites, COs. special pioneers, etc.., is not that big a deal.

Plus, outside the US, there might be one DO for an entire country, or for several countries. Why not have a branch overseer take on a little extra work and cut out one layer of bureaucracy?

The Wt. is following corporate America by eliminating middle management.

wannaexit: Good news. Glad some of the pompous DO's I've come across will be brought down a peg or two. Any Canadian remembers Wayne Johnson?

I had the misfortune of dealing with Wayne Johnson a real “piece of work” for several years, when I was still in and an elder. He was a self-deluded, arrogant power hungry man. He swaggered around the assembly hall, and had a very smug look all the time. He made sure everyone around him knew that he was the boss. I don’t think I ever saw that man crack a smile. He always looked miserable to me. I last saw him at a district convention around 5 years ago (my last one) he was sitting in my section. He seemed to have aged 30 years, his head down and miserable looking as ever. Looks good on him.

    Hoser and Baldeagle:

I'm glad I am not the only one that thinks Wayne Johnson to be a real piece of work. --so deluded and full of himself. A genuine human peacock. I have heard through the grapevines that he has been or was ill for a time.----- He wont be getting a "get well" card for me any time soon.

Ancientofdays: I've also wondered about the italian letterhead and wondered what is up for that. I know for a fact that there are many capable translators at Via della Bufalotta and around . But then again Anthony Morris the third showed the world that the only thing Italians were known for was tight pants.

D.O. really just served COs & GBs..makes sense to put a few of them at "desk" jobs anyway. Why have travel costs & setting up housing costs for them? COs can give the talks for assemblies as they are just as good 'parrots' for GB.

In U.S. about 686 COs (apprx. 20 congs per circuit,,so about a few dozen DOs to displace?

I heard many have kicked out from Bethel in Rome. So probably there were many capable translators there ...
