The Watchtower leadership reminds me more and more of North Korea:

They are one of the poorest countries in the world, like dirt poor, like in having no running water and electricity and food and stuff, but yet held EVERY year, for 3 months some kind of Olympic Summer games. I am not kidding you. The inaugural ceremony blows every Olympic Games Opening ceremony out of the water (100.000 people participate in this galactic-lick-my-arse-government-show):

The GB would love to have something similar. They also would love to govern a whole country like this. "No, Sir, we are not beating you up with a rubber stick and electrocuting your nipples, this is love, pure love from our dear leader."

One Elder's wife also said that going to College is a joke because you end up working at McDonalds. She then contrasted that with pioneering and going to Bethel. She said," Jeehovah provides, and you don't have to work at McDonalds!" Then the same article mentioned making choices that won't cause anxiety about material things... So I guess being poor causes less anxiety? The poor WTBTS is trying to eat their cake, and have it too. It can't be done.

They also droned on about needing more men to " reach out." LOL... The legalisim in the WTBTS has created this situation. Now they have to reap the consequences.

BOC: And exactly where are these new circuits?

If you asked your MIL, I'm sure she'd say something like, "Well I don't know, but they must be somewhere!"

Yes, just not here, ... no matter where "here" is!

In the UK we have some really rubbish university courses that will never help you get a job.

The WTS could be circling the drain and there'd still be a handful of hard-core followers that would interpret it positively.

I suspect more and more rank-and-filers would be secretly relieved, though.

Funny you say this. We all see this as an obvious downsizing move, just like any corporation would do. But after the announcement my MIL commented how they must be doing this "for all the new circuits being formed."

It's because they say something like 10 new congregations are being formed every day because 277,000 get baptized each year, averaging to 740 per day, averaging to 10 congs with 70(ish) people in them. This is, of course, idiotic, because we know that out of 113,000 congregations, this only adds 2-3 per cong per year. The is NOT 10 new congregations each day. Silly people.
