They really didn't tell us much of anything true did they.
Life is great outside the cold, dark, cruel pit that is watchtower.

Hi, Bemused - Yes, we were told many times that our young people had more knowledge than those with a college degree, both in talks from the platform and during book study. We were also told that because our young ones were so elevated and morally clean, they were an attraction for scummy low-life worldly youth who would attempt to "ensnare" them into immorality. These worldly youth, of course, were all without morals and they smoked, drank, and did drugs as their only recreation while we spent all our time nicely dressed attending lovely picnics and playing non-competitive sports with each other.

Hell of a breakdown, William; well done. Even if some of those policies and attitudes aren't explicitly spelled out in WT literature, they are definately implied and promoted amongst the R&F, and what's more, anyone who denies it is either naive or lying to himself.

Oh, gosh, I remember that.
It always made me scratch my head; when I was growing up, I got the impression that if anything, being a teenage JW was a turn-off as far as "worldy" young people were concerned. The so-called "wrong crowd" certainly didn't seem too interested in having anything to do with me.
Of course, I may have simply been ugly.

"Going to University or College shows ambition, pride and greed"
And, why is that a bad thing? Those are all human emotions, and just like any other emotion it can be channeled to a good purpose.
