As for those who place the
blame on the woman and her clothing...
I say f**k THEM up the *SS
and then tell 'em it was their
    fault cuz their
    suits were just hugging
    their a**es in a sexually
    promiscuous way as they walked
    up and down the aisles
    fondling their microphones
    provocatively.

You don't "reason" with rapists. You simply shoot them dead.

Thanks for the hug Matty ...the term cold-blooded is a good one;the damage they inflict by being un-trained and incompetent in the face of distressing situations must do so much damage to so many;Iwas even told i'd be better off without 'therapy' as you had to be so careful that the therapist's views did'nt conflict with Jehovahs...How the hell are you supposed to go through therapy analising each sentence and trying to 'ok' it mentally and measure it against any bible verses you can remember?I can't even remember what I was wearing during the attacks...

    SPAZnik-another beautifully expressed post!X

"But is rape really a punishment for women who dress really well,"
    ------------------------

Every Year in Long Beach for the past SEVERAL years there has been a seriel Rapest running loose and prey's on elderly women usually in broad daylight.
He enters there homes through open windows or unlocked doors and rapes them.
He has gotten away with this so far. He has been on the prowel again just recently.
His victims are usually between the ages of 60 and 80 years old.

No mention of the type of clothing they were wareing prior to the attacks.

    Thanks for posting this, Flower.

I'm disgusted by the watchtower's view of this. I know what I'd do if confronted with a rapist...I'd try to live. If I could get away, I would, if I could fight without getting killed, I would. Thats it.

Do they really think that a woman doesnt WANT to get away in this situation? Do they really think that "not screaming" is because they WANT sex with this stranger?

If the Eldership thinks women want this type of behavior by not screaming and /or invites it by the way they do or don't dress have a definate screw loose!

I wonder if the ruling would be the same if they were the once in danger of violently taking it up the windward channel ?

This thread deserves to stay at or near the top for a while, to show many of the new members the hypocrisy and sickness of the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society's doctrine.

<Rape/assault is an extreem action used by some one of low self esteem who feels powerless and who needs to reassert their pathetic self worth with violence and control, when their feelings of inadequecy resurface>

For some men, being in a postion of leadership in the Watchtower organization is an extreem action used by some one of low self esteem who feels powerless and who needs to reassert their pathetic self worth with ... control, when their feelings of inadequecy resurface.

    YEAH!!!

Re-reading the original post's quotes from Witness literature I wanted to vomit!

Would they say the same of a male being approached by a rapist? Is a male who wears a slinky tank top and cut offs dressing suggestively and asking for it?

No wonder children do not find comfort with these men of God when they disclose abuse. Now I understand why the Elders asked me, as a child, those cold questions so many years ago...What did you do? How often? I bet they were really wondering why I didn't 'scream' 'fight back' ...it all makes sense to me now. They really believed I was involved in a sin!!!!

It's too late for the boy I was, but I take comfort in the fact I'll never have to sit in front of those men, ever again.

I really have a lot to say about this topic but as usual can't figure out how to phrase it, nor do I have the patience. I will mention the "meeting" with the elders after I was raped and their question about what I was wearing, and all that good stuff. They asked me and I said "The first time I was on the way to work so I had on a t-shirt, and a LONG skirt so as to cover the FULL-LENGTH cast on my left leg, so I can't imagine my attire affected this guy's actions". It shut them up...but unfortunately only for a minute.

They are so blind and willingly ignorant. The "brothers" (generally, I know some don't share the overall JW opinion) can say this because they won't find themselves in the situation to be raped or attacked or stalked. All the "sisters" I knew growing up always claimed it was the girl's/woman's fault because in their mind "they had Jehovah on their side" and "didnt't think it would ever happen to them." Heh. Yeah, right. Just wait, see how far you get when you scream and the knife is stabbed in your tongue.
