Frankly, I feel a one year wait is good for a marriage. Too many people do it impulsively. It is relatively cheap to marry and expensive and painful to divorce. What is the rush? Perhaps you should read what a legal marriage entails.

I never heard of this Witness procedure but I've been out for many decades. Churches besides the Witnesses impose waiting periods for marriage. Sober people would not find one year a long period. I remember when NY was practically never for a divorce. Nelson Rockefeller change it. You can be with each other.

Since you are in a foreign jurisdiction, you should find out what the legal requirements are, too.

Welcome Almond, Are you a JW? Does your GF love you more than the WTBTS?

Instead of you and your GF being victimized by the WTBTS, do the following:

    1. Make your plan to slowly (or quickly) fade from the WTBTS. If your GF is a "Spiritually Strong" (non-thinking) JW, ask yourself if you want to be in a ménage à trois relationship with your GF's cult and authentic personas and you? Being married is difficult enough, but why enter a relationship that is guaranteed to be filled with unneccessary drama because your GF loves the WTBTS more than you?
    2. Independently and thoroughly research the WTBTS. Visit reputable websites like www.jwfacts.com, www.freedomofmind.com, www.watchtowerdocuments.com, www.jwsurvey.org, and www.freeminds2.org.
    3. Independently and thoroughly research dangerous cults, BITE control, and "undue influence". Instead of reading information by the WTBTS about cults, read information by cult-exit counselors like Steve Hassan's books (i.e., "Combatting Cult Mind Control", "Releasing the Bonds: Empowering People to Think for Themselves", and (his latest book) "Freedom of Mind: Helping Loved Ones Leave Controlling People, Cults and Beliefs"), visiting this website www.freedomofmind.com, and watching his FREE videos on his website like Strategic Interactive Approach explained 2003 (1:23:23).
    4. Vent your frustrations abou the WTBTS on JWN as much as possible to reduce the possibility of making your GF suspicious about your feelings and to learn how to help your GF to critically think for herself.
    5. Warning: DO NOT show your GF information about TTATT and BITE control, ask her simple and innocent questions, and encourage her to do her own research. If you want to help your GF to critically think for herself, be patient and compassionate when you ask her simple questions to overcome the WTBTS's BITE control. Also, learn how to overcome WTBT's indoctrinated thought-stopping platitudes, so that you can strip away layers of the WTBTS's BITE control a little at a time.
    6. Get more education/training so that you can qualify for a better paying career for your fiancial security and your family.
    7. Do fun and entertaining activities where you will meet more non-JWs, who you share common interests. Life is short so enjoy it and live it, instead of being victimized by the WTBTS.

Peace be with you and eveyrone, who you love,

    Robert

    Almond,

Take this time to test the WT. You have tested other religions, and know they are false. Test the WT. Read the many reasons why many have let it...this is not saying you should leave God...stay close to Jehovah...learn what makes the WT a false religion, as all the other religions are.

I'd have to agree with JustVisiting.

Tell them all to butt out of your lives. You are adults, not children.

ALMOND, I did not read it all: but I hope she was BAPTISED 6 years ago , and not that many years OLD'

Can we assume that you lived in OZ when you were divorced, divorced in an Australien court?-- must be' so

The divorces granted outside the islands are ecognized there, how could it be otherwise? If you are a citizen of Australia or another country rather than than the Philippines now,

Nothing, including some goodwill money to local officials, should keep you from getting married by a judge there. because

the Australian or whatever embassy will issue you a required "permission to marry"*paper if you can present THEM with valid divorce paper or death certificate of your previous wife ---.

That "permission to marry" certification from the embassy should get you in front of the local judge to tie the knot-- legally--. so,

if you are still a citizen of the Republic -, the justices want justice to be done,-- wich is flexible--, better to get your foreign citizenship. but

with liaisons before marriage, already disfellowshipped fiancee, strict elders and 'Black&White'-only thinking Germans involved, the elders will not rent you the Kingdom hall. but

Plan to throw a big party- you, not the "FATHER OF THE BRIDE" will pay of course, and the whole village will come and feast.

just my observation, not legal advice.

    * and you and the lady are up to snuff BSW:

glad your bout with impotency was only temporary, do not let it happen again, it seems to work fine outside marriage.

Run away from the jws with your lady and make your own life. That's the best. It will take some time to clear your head but it's worth it. That organization will just chew you up and spit you out otherwise.

Friends,,, thank you all for your comments.... Every time Philippines gets a new president,,, new heads think of ways TO MAKE MONEY especially FROM FOREIGNERS.... Now foreigners need a CENOMAR from the NSO office... Shows if you was married in the Philippines before.. Foreign Divorce has to filed in the Court for RECOGNITION OF FOREIGN DOCUMENT.. Court filing fee P515 $15.. Attorney Fee P30,000 $800.. then wait for the Judge to make the Order to the NSO to update their Records..

    Welcome Almond,

Why do you want to apeal the Disfellowshipping? Do you both agree with the Jehovah's Witnesses?

Almond, you have a sticky situation.

    Your fiance is disfellowshipped.

You are free to remarry on scriptural grounds, but not legal grounds. This pledge of faithfullness, I would be surprised, may apply in your case. If the Elder comes back and tells you that it doesn't, then that is your answer about that loophole.

Go home and hug your fiance, and tell her that you love her forever and you both will ride out this crazy world. Then when the planets allign, you will get that paper.

Cheers and please send me an invite to the wedding, eh.

I'll bring you a great gift, and I love Karoake.
