The reason to keep old pubs is to have the actual documentation of Botchtower BS. So when someone fresh in the Borg says "Oh they didn't say that." you can show them otherwise.-Heaven

I think thats a good idea for you to keep them. Personally for me when I encounter JWs I taqlk about how unscriptural the RI process is and compare it to Luke 15.11-24 about the Prodigal Son. This is what is close to my heart and helps the JW think of me as an individual with a unique set of circumstances that can apply equally to them or their families.

I tried 5 times to get RI'd, si I tell them that it was my best and I don't believe the process was scriptural.

I have kept 4 bibles all different translations, versions.

Not to worry, you shouldn't hold any regrets about not having historical literature, Paul Grundy has copies on jwfacts.com should you ever really need them. Be happy that you have moved on.

I traded most of it in at the used book store for store credit. Threw the rest away. I do have a copy of the 2 bibles, though. And a My book of bible stories for nastalgia. I have read some of it to my son, just skipped over the untrue parts.

Thats cool that you managed to get store credit for it all. I would imagine the store couldn't sell any of it and had to throw it away LOL. They can't give it away for free on the jw.org trolleys.

My library goes back to the 1950's any beyond. It’s been in the garage 4 years. I'm saving it for my child. If/when he is interested enough in learning the flip/flop doctrines, he will have proof of what I've been telling him and he will be able to reference changed passages. I do not trust jw.org. The WT has a history of erasing false predictions and dire warnings. TTATT will stand the test of time.

The GB has proven that they are men of dishonestly and the kings of spin. Since they do not admit misdeeds, I hang on to the books. If he doesn’t choose to burn them maybe he can contribute to his college fund by selling them as collectibles on EBay. That would be the best possible use of them and it would give me a measure of satisfaction and closure.

I have considered underlining and marking specific passages of TTATT in the literature for him, but somehow I never have found the time. I can think if 100 better things to do, than that.

Kate, you wrote "There are many threads on this forum highlighting the dangerous doctrines and articles...." Yes, there are threads, but there is nothing like seeing in in black and white, and holding proof in your hand. I guess I'm a little old fashioned.

Old literature is sought after by theological libraries and is useful

to free people from this cult. The WT tries to deny their own history

and distorts their own past. They claim they have been consistant,

and everything they said came true. Being able to disprove this from

their own writings is useful.

That is a tremendous amount of collectables. I am sorry your son hasn't been interested in learning the flip flop doctrines. He is now a fithgen, it's surprises me he is still in. I hope he wakes up soon.

We have recent evidence of the RNWT, the error that was made in Numbers on the hard copy has been changed on jw.org. I suppose that proves that holy spirit was not guiding the bible printing or that holy spirit got it wrong.
