I'm with Ann O'Malley. When we moved I threw out anything that was already on the CD-Rom. We have the older materials and I frequently access the Secret of Family Happiness Book, to forewarn "Unbelieving Mates".
Do you have all your WT literature? If so why?

I have kept 1 copy of most items I have. I have some Russell and Rutherford books and perhaps one day I'll just toss them all out. They are just the words of delusional men so keeping them or not keeping them doesn't really affect my life.

I placed my rags and wastes of paper in my shredder during 2005, fully expecting to put around half its lifetime burden on it during that time. The hard books were tossed in 2006 or 2007, being tossed in a rubbish bag and placed in a dumpster while it was raining. That bag ended up in the bottom of the dumpster, effectively ruining every piece of littera-trash therein.

When I was going to the meetings I really had nothing more than a songbook & a bible, and I threw them away many years ago. But now I have a collection of books going back to 1946 which makes me happy, as this religion was always a puzzle to me: but reading the old books I can see the pattern- Armageddon was always 'just around the corner'; children would never grow up; and there was always an explanation for the current situation of time, events and peoples. I don't think it is really important to have the old literature, but I've found it is useful... and not just for burning in my woodstove.

In part, my wife put some of my old books on her bookshelf (the 'Proclaimers' book is one I've picked up to flip through from time to time). I still have my 'Organized' book, 'Reasoning' book, and some others. I had this moment when I was cleaning out my closet recently and found some of the old books. I got rid of old magazines but...the books I just found myself unable to throw out. I couldn't part with them for some reason.
If I had to come up with a reason, it'd be...because it was a part of my life. My mom got baptized when I was 2, and I finally got out of it officially a few months before I turned 28. I'm 31 now, four years later. That's just about my entire life, contained in those books. My history. I don't want to see it every day, and I probably don't even want to read it again, most of the time, unless it's for some specific reference about an issue that comes to mind. I just...feel like it should be there. It made me sad to think of throwing them away. I guess it's a lot like that time awhile back when I went to a meeting just to watch the kids while my wife gave a talk. There was that sadness, like visiting the grave of an old friend I was forced to destroy. As long as they're there, they serve as a reminder of the weight of sacrifice. Of the cost of having to do the right thing, even when those I loved most would never believe in me or in the rightness of my path. The price of ending a war that had already cost too much and was started for all the wrong reasons.
I can't avoid JW books without divorcing my wife, anyway. So what's the point? Maybe if that day ever comes and our marriage does actually end, maybe then I'll get rid of the remaining books. I suppose I'm still tethered to it all, so it would be a vain gesture.

- The reason to keep old pubs is to have the actual documentation of Botchtower BS. So when someone fresh in the Borg says "Oh they didn't say that." you can show them otherwise
Same reason I keep mine!

When I left I moved out of state, I pitched everything, even my bible. No regrets, I do not want that in my house, but I kind of wish I had kept some of the materials that have been quoted here, like the one saying young ones would not have time for a future in this system. If nothing else I could show it to the dubs that won't stop coming by my house. Yrs, it's all over the internet, but I imagine most dubs would just think it was altered somehow to make them look bad.
