If you guys could stop bothering god with your own petty selfish personal requests, that would be nice.

He's a lot of stuff to fix up here on a global scale. People starving, disease, natural disasters, global warming - you know, big picture stuff.

Clearly god is a hopeless manager of his time. While he is running around getting some of you lists of names and granting other mundane wishes, little kids are dying agonising deaths all over the place.

Finallyfree, God works in mysterious ways. I can remember God answering my 'prayers' even before I became one of JW's. I guess He knew that if He could keep me alive long enough, I would eventually serve Him.

Tiktaalik, those dying little kids are just in the wrong place at the wrong time; unforeseen occurence. (Ecc 9:11)

Not their fault, but not Jehovah's fault either.

But they will not be forgotten. Jehovah will resurrect them soon, and they will live forever, if they want to.

Praise Jah, you people. (Psalms 150:6, Rev 19:1)

Or you just suffer from the same delusion as many other believers- that you are somehow more important than the millions whose prayers consistently go unanswered.

A friend of mine (non JW) told me about a prayer she had prayed about and it was answered within the hour. I told my mother about it (devout JW) and she asked did she pray outloud. I said yea.. she said well that was Satan manouvering things to make it look like God answered the prayer. I was disgusted with her answer!!!!

    Wha....?

So, Jesus' long prayer recorded for us at John 17 was silent?

But when you pray, go into your private room and, after shutting your door, pray to your Father who is in secret. Then your Father who looks on in secret will repay you. - Matt 6:8

Why would Jesus say to go into a private room if all you had to do was pray silently?

I would like to put YOU in the wrong place at the wrong time and see how you like it. The problem with your " unforseen occurence" defense is that GOD could stop all suffering instantly, each person he saved would be another slap in Satan's face. There is no need to allow countless humans to die, just so GOD can have a big finale.

Friggin' Watchtarded... I wish stupidity was grounds for being banned. Oh well, your "defense" of WT dogma does more damage than anything I could ever do.

keyser, I'm not more important than anyone else, but perhaps He saw potential in me that He didn't see in most others.

The Bible has some interesting things to say about prayer:

"You do ask, and yet you do not receive, because you are asking for a WRONG PURPOSE..." (James 4:3)

"...no matter what it is that we ask ACCORDING TO HIS WILL, he hears us." (1 John 5:14)

For our prayers to be answered by Jehovah, we have to pray for proper things with a proper motive.

So, A Watcher, does God grant everything you ask in prayer, or does he grant wishes just some of the time? If just some of the time, would you say it's 50%, or 75% or what percentage of your prayers would you say get answered?

If God doesn't answer your prayer all of the time, is the difference because of what you asked? Do some types of things get granted more than others?

It just seems curious to me, I heard that you can just put things out to the universe, I ask the universe for something, and sometimes I get it and sometimes I don't. Would you say if I do get what I ask for, does that mean the universe granted my prayer? Yes or no response please.
