those that ignore me now, then would have a justification, excuse, kind of.

I would be proud of the official recognition.

If the bible would have any credibility, I would say

a record for their judgment has been made public, life unfolds like it should. and

any restraint to information-flow would be removed.

I worry more how my disfellowshipping would effect my love ones.

This is how I feel, too. I'd lose contact with family, and friends. But I don't have a lot of JW friends anyway. I KNOW a lot of JWs, but that doesn't mean we're friends. No one calls me unless they want something, so it's no great loss there with a handful of exceptions. However, I do worry about the effect on my family. I think it would be like losing someone in death to them.

It would put an end to putting in token service (2-5 hours) each month.

At this point...I don't care either way.

My REAL FRIENDS are apostates and "worldly" people.

Come 2015, I'll no longer recognize the WT's "POWER" or "TERMINOLOGY" and "PROCEEDURES" I will officially be taking my life back.

For me, it is all about the collateral damage. I don't think that my self-esteem or other aspects of my "self" would be diminished. But, the ones I love and care about might be adversely affected. I have done a good job of fading. My immediate family is on track. Ulitmately, I will disappear into the ether and no JW will even think of me again anyway. That will be a very good day.

    yes, fading is preferable.

    (1) Family contact, could even ruin my marriage.

    (2) My inheritance.
