Now if Jehovah was Adam's father and Jehovah is an invisible, intangible spirit living in heaven, then wasn't Jehovah similarly a distant parent?

Dam right this entity we call god is absent!!

Interpretations and interpretations here comes a few...

Jesus did not poo and piss, all of what he ate was transformed in thin air (sublimation). But we can imply he had a lot of farts...

Jesus was full incorporated (mind+body) at the moment of his baptism, until that he was a kind of perfect human body running on BIOS. That's the reason why the lack of information of his youth before baptism.

Jesus possibly was delivered through Mary's ears or from a magical belly hatch! I'm not kidding, it was serious in Middle Ages!

Bonus: Mary's mother was a virgin too! I mean she was born from a virgin!

We have no problem being materialistic in our thinking with regard to animals...

They are born, they gain consciousness with life, limited by their physical faculties, then they die and cease to exist.

Only a human would ask 'Where was my mind before I existed!'

It is a GREAT question, because the question says more about us than the answer does. The answer also helps reality feel less severe and frightening. I was born in 1980, I fear death as much as I fear the year 1979.

The start of your consciousness does not coincide with your birth.

In a practical sense the brain predates the consciousness. But I think consciousness is an inherent property of the universe and it makes crude matter to aggregate complexity to the possibility of a direct interaction of mind upon matter.

I think the mind is more important than the brain. We just have to find a way to harbour the mind with some better substrate. Nature used an egg like substrate to keep something of higher value. Now is our turn to design something better like nanobots to replace our neurons.

I think we are the first conscious beings in this universe. Now is our fate to fill it with intelligent life (not necessarily human life).

Adam was an amoeba; a real living creature.

    ‘God?'

Well show me, explain, prove and define such a monster ever existed.

Maybe we have better things to do with our time.

Adam and Eve must have been horrible parents, absolutely no child rearing experience at all,

they had no experience from being children themselves since they came from dust and one of Adam's ribs.

I think we're involved in a time continuum "do-over" (un-merited favor) scenario with the victorious sons of light defining or more appropriately "unraveling" the theme of redemption which facilitates what God (who exists outside of our time continuum*) has called pre-destination. "everyone who is found written in the book will be saved"

*an object in motion actually experiences time at a slower rate than one at rest.

Well, if the sons of God were created in eternity/timelessness then they wouldn't have a mother...like adam. In order to allow for choice and decision making human beings needed an environment where they could grow and mature...an environment where there is the progression of time. Jesus was said to decend from eternity and asend to eternity. He was prepared for this environment like every other human being since adam. 40 weeks. once He asended He entered into His eternal habitation (able to move forward and backward in our time continuum) which explains why there were Christophanies before He was "born" as well as after He "died"...described as bright light.

the bible says that the fullness of God was suppressed in the physical manifestation.

I'll talk about going poop with my 11 year old boys on the way home from school if they initiate the conversation, it's simply a fact of life. I don't know why a 67(?) yo would feel the need to bring it up in disparaging the notion of God incarnate...unless you're out of aces.
