I read this somewhere recently ;)
it may help as a way of explaining what I'm talking about.
take a piece of paper and fold it in half. Push a pencil through the paper making two holes. Then unfold the paper.
the space between the two holes can be portrayed is our "time"...the two holes can portray the Son...the beginning and the end. in this way it can be demonstrated how the Son can be creator of our "time" and be the pre-existant One as well as exist in our "time"...Jesus...Immanuel...God with us.

why dont the watchtower guys just come out and say--the creation myth is just that--a fairy story. i doubt they would lose many followers. i would imagine they would gain a lot of credibility.
a talking snake. a woman created from mud with a guys rib stirred in.
come on watchtower---get real. your followers deserve that much.
The ancients didn't have the knowledge we have now, therefore they were compelled to create
self induced imaginary ideas as toward the beginning of this earth and of themselves.
All theological beliefs throughout human history were rooted within human ignorance as tangible and
necessary concepts to offer answers of the unknown.
God tasked certain people to contextualize their knowledge of Him for their time. Moses and paul are two examples of people who, while not re-defining God and His message of redemption, taught God's message to man by placing Him and His activity into their time. They re-contextualized the gospel as knowledge of God increased. That doesn't mean that their knowledge is myth but, an immature expression of facts.

God tasked certain people to contextualize their knowledge of Him for their time.
Likewise so did all the other ancient civilizations and their separate and select gods ( ie Egyptians pre Canaanite/Israelite )
Why do you not accept and believe those people's contextualizing of their god(s) ??
Michelle - As christians always do, you are resorting to muddled metaphors to try to justify ludicrous superstitions.
dear cofty...
I haven't tried to "justify" a superstition with a metaphor.
...as some atheists always do, you automatically try to shoot down discussion about God because you have no personal belief in Him. In the marketplace of ideas you endeavour to stifle any but your own...while I, on the other hand, try to expand the thought process into as yet uncharted territory.

I..try to expand the thought process into as yet uncharted territory
The irony!
In the marketplace of ideas you endeavor to stifle any but your own...while I, on the other hand, try to expand
the thought process into as yet uncharted territory.
But the ideas from where you derive your theists ideologies come from known accepted human ignorance of ancient
mythological beliefs.
There now has been accepted evidential discovers to analytically break or challenge ancient mythological beliefs and to
understand why they appeared in the human conscientious.
