The WTS has a lot to answer for with this , they have failed to make clear that it is a personal decision that may at times be necessary

BluesBrother, yes, you hit the nail on the head with this statement. This article made me really angry, even though I will probably never be in this situation myself. What really made me angry was paragraph 20, latter part:

"He has given us his commandments--including those relating to family life and material needs-- for our benefit. When we follow them, we show that we love him and trust in him."This is what the love of God means, that we observe his commandments; and yet his commandments are not burdensome." -- 1 John 5:3"

So, now, not going abroad for work is a commandment?

Jesus called the Pharisees hypocrites because of "teaching commands of men as doctrines".

It's black and white. You can either be greedy and love money, or you can serve Jehovah.

There is no middle ground and you cannot combine the two.

The story is either fiction or a conglomeration of real stories. I was on a CA program once and asked to relate my experience about MTS.

During rehearsals, the CO keot trying to enhance (i.e., make $hit up.) what I said. I got him back. During the actual CA! I downplayed so much that it was dull. LOL.

A friend said to me "you never used the pronoun 'I.'" That's because it was not really MY experience.

I remember one SAD when the CO had to import a couple from another circuit to relate their experience because no one on either side of our circuit had an experience to match what the part called for. The sheeples ate it up.

My disillusionment was nearly complete. MTS opened the curtain on the Wizard of Oz...

    I mean the GB.

Snakes..(of the not into making $hit up Sheep Class)

“Can you provide funds in an emergency or help a fellow Christian to find work locally? If so, you can reduce the pressure that he or she may feel to leave the family to find work elsewhere.—Prov. 3:27, 28; 1 John 3:17.”

In nearly 30 years as a JW, I never ONCE heard of any congregation offering any financial assistance to an individual in need. It was all done by individuals.

This doesn't mean it didn't happen, but it certainly didn't happen in any congregation where I served as an elder nor in any nearby congregations where I might have heard about it.

I've come to believe that the so-called Disaster Relief activities are in fact just another money-making scam for the organization. The way they are run seems to be a for-profit activity disguised as charity.

Para 10 amazed me. "Jehovah knows that we need some money. But money cannot protect and sustain us the way godly wisdom can."

Tell me, who has just instructed EVERY congregation to tithe hundreds of $$$ to them every month?

This article has been on the back burner for 50 years. I grew up in a large city that invited immigrants and financed them. Some were illegal immigrants. A large amount of Bible Studies were due to illegal immigrants. They were invited into our congregations but, becuase they were illegal, didn't qualify for duties. This article doesn't memtion illegals, but the message is there.

The WTBTS has alot of nerve publishing this statement in paragraph 9 while at the same time building a multi-million dollar compound to house the GB, their wives and other WT elite:

'But Paul went on to urge all Christians to be content with thier daily necessities-food, clothing, and shelter. We should not constantly be striving for a higher standard of living or for future financial security.......A Christian does not need to seek material riches in this world, which will soon pass away.'

Who in the hell writes this crap????

    ...Or this in par 19:

'The Scriptures urge us: 'Let your way of life be free of the love of money while you are content with the present things.....'

Again, keeping in mind the new multi-million dollar living complex for housing the top brass of the WTBTS.....The GB and the other WT elite must be the exception to the above Bible rule!!!!

In our cong we have 95% of families, including the elders families, all living in 5 or more room houses with three new cars, swimming pools etc etc....

So they were all loving the spirit of condemning ones in situations that they know NOTHING about!

It made me sick to see the harshness and "narrowmindedness......."
