But WAIT!!!, the bible is gods word, it shows the history of god's people from Abraham to Jesus everything in it is true and nothing contradicts. Its doesnt matter that Goshen did not exist or that the gospels make geographical errors. It doesn't matter that the almighty god could not help Judah destroy the lower plains people because they had chariots. Its doesnt matter that the early writings describing jah also describe to a tee EL and BAAL. Its does not matter that no evidence has ever been found about an exodus or a guy named Moses or David or Solomon. It also does not matter that the temple created by solomon (supposedly) to the greatest god ever was an almost exact duplicate of the temple at Ain Dara. HOW DARE YOU QUESTION THE BIBLE!!!!!!!!!
Something I need to clear up about the bible - It is not a BRONZE AGE BOOK!

The Bible being a bronze age book is actually something Christians claim.
Funny, I've never once heard anyone claim the Bible is a bronze age book, Christian or otherwise. I went to churches until I was 12 and since I left the JWs. Not ever a mention of the bronze age.

Mikado
ok, it's a bunch of fairy stories stolen from lots of other culures, better?

HowTheBibleWasCreated
I wouldn't call them fairy stories but yes Mikado is right. (For instance the flood in Babylonia was based on earlierstories likely half true.)
Much of the 'david stories' betray someone who knew homer....

I am a bit suspiscious of the need to change the expression from "bronze age", I wonder if with some it is a desire to make the Bible more credible/repectable.
Iron age sounds much closer to the Age of Reason.
If someone writes today of belief in Witches I may well accuse them of "mediaeval superstition", it does not mean their irrational fears and beliefs were written down in those times, just that generally those old fears were rejected after those times, at least by the enlightened.
To say the Bible is full of Bronze Age myths is entirely accurate.

Seriously?
Your@$$ is chapped because people mistakenly call it "bronze age" instead of "iron age"?
Let me guess - you argue with your waiter at breakfast about how "French" French toast is, too?

It's a book who's stories begin in the Stone Age, progress into the Bronze Age, are written about in the Iron Age, all so it could be entirely debunked in the Information Age.

HowTheBibleWasCreated, you appear bright.
Some friendly advice - there are more useful battles for you to choose. This one looks like a Windmill-to-tilt-at.
Whether the Babble is carp because stonemasons were ignorant, or because bronze-bearing shepherds were ignorant, or because some other temporally-defined groups were ignorant, is, in the final analysis, not all that important. Right?
The classes aren't sharply-defined, either. There's no clear cut-off. The technologies overlapped. And there was a follow-through of wrong ideas. Just like rain is caused by Goobergawd micturating through a hole in the firmament.
Why not instead angelically challenge the anger into toppling the Rapist's Tower ("Spiritual Rapists", that is - in just the way the Watchtower has defined its opposers' writings as "Spiritual Pornography" and interaction with those it disapproves as "Spiritual Fornication")?
Help from the Brighter Class (lots of members thereof about in this specific thread, despite my cuddly pokes and pardusian jesting) needed. Details are elsewhere.
There's at least ten thousand million dollars up for grabs, still tied up in real estate and which will take a decade to hide. If, that is, we can figure out an M.O. that the courts - in Europe, that includes the ECHR - could swallow. Friends and allies and amicus curiae assistants will spring up all over the place.
Focuses the mind a bit. A very difficult task, and conflicting legal precedents. The Tobacco lobby and cartel "analogy" has been well studied by me.
Even if, ultimately, it fails entirely, along the way the potentially calamitous (indeed, Armageddonian) consequences may cause our favorite whorelike borganization to be scared into changing its ways.
Believe me, it understands only one language. All of us experienced with whores know what that is, right?
So, HowTheBibleWasCreated, "Focus."
