I am a Jehovah's Witness and I think that we like to lock the literature cupboard because sometimes the books escape. They have a mind of their own you know. One magazine was found by a man on a tip and he came in to the truth. Another tract was found by an Australian in the pouch of a kangaroo. It is really true what Jesus said about the stones crying out and doing the preeching work - except it is not the stones, it is the literature, they have a mind of their own you know.

Back in "the day" when I was managing the counter, we locked things up too. Mostly because literature still had to be inventoried at certain times of the year. If the pubs helps themselves to literature during weekly service, even if paid for later, it was an accounting nightmare. Putting a value to the literature, I bow to Farkel's post.

There is nothing to challenge. Nothing on earth is more precious than the words of spirit and life contained in the Bible and the magazines of jws. Who would not want to steal such magazines? Even you really want them deep down inside. You just do not want to admit it.
