Is this a new "This Generation" or not?

I was at my in-laws the other day, JW lifers, my father-in-law came in during the '75 push .... I do what I can to help them out, he is in his mid 70's and his health is terrible, he retired from a good job and had a nice retirement plan, unfortunately he kept taking out more and more to help others as he was certain the end would come soon and he never expected to grow old in this system, ... he is in his chair in his bedroom, he rarely leaves it, and he yells out to his wife, who is in the living room at the other end of their small house, in a puzzled and depressed tone ... "[dear wife], just how long is a generation?" ... mother-in-law responds ... "(long sigh), I don't know [dear husband], I don't know."

    Focus:

Back off, Jack. You are not the GB and I am not your whimpering little slave. Nobody whacks me with impunity.

You also - though obviously free of the cult, good for you - need to let go of the ruthless literal-mindedness that the Borg instilled in you.

I am well aware of all the enormous hurt, pain, and grief the Unfaithful and Wicked Servant has perpetrated these many years upon millions of unsuspecting JW dupes. I was one. And it nearly KILLED me too.

I won't go into the details of my life on this board but this beautifully written account by a young brother in Australia perfectly sums up the intensity of my own suffering and near-suicide too: http://www.freeminds.org/stories/growingupgay.htm

So again I say, Back off bud. I am a wounded veteran with deep, deep scars, and you are messing with the wrong guy. Get out of my face.

When I said the newfangled interpretation was funny, I meant it is so patently, mindlessly absurd as to be ridiculous on its face - no one but a small child or a baptized publisher could possibly read it without laughing out loud.

Which is how grown-up people put things concisely, in a single word, instead of having to stretch them out in page after page of booooooring detail, regurgitated word for freakin' word every Sunday morning. I daresay many other ex-dupes on this board and elsewhere agree with me.

But I forgive you, knowing as I do how long, long, long it takes to overcome the brainwashing of this evil cult. Now go and sin no more, bro.

@Freedom77 Please do not worry about the those that engage in 'grand-standing' on JWN. IHMO most members, like yourself, know if you are on this board you have been hurt, are being hurt or will be hurt by the borg. Some seem to focus their condescention on recent joiners - which is even more ironic considering you have been around for over a decade.

With the recent new light, at least the older JWs now believe that they will remain married to their spouses after resurrection in the new world and they will still be either female or male. The GB does give them some things at times.

I get so confused with their constant generation teaching changes. So when will they need to make another adjustment to this teaching? In other words when does this other generation start dying off? 2025? 2035?

Another disgusting Watchtower flip-flop. I remember the Watchtower teaching that those resurrected will not get to re-marry their spouse. Then I remember all the scandalous marriages where an old elders wife of decades would die and 6 months later he marries a woman young enough to be his daughter. Now.....looks like their are going to be a lot of pissed-off JW wives being resurrected. LOL

As a younger Dub back in the 80's I remember reading a nicely written article in one of the major news magazines that stated the JW religion is the on ly religion that has put an expiration date on itself. The article talked about the Watchtower's belief about the 1914 generation would not pass away until the end came. The article concluded that either the JW's will be right or they will have to come up with something to extend time in their favor. Now....we have the "over-lapping" generation teaching. Wonder if that news writer is still alive and knows this?
