just watched Dawkins If I meet God when I die video and he says that it is quite wrong to believe that science reduces humanity or that science gives one a bleak cold empty barren view of the universe and of life. Science he says is enriching and fulfilling (2.47-2.52). I agree.
Cofty, Dawkins also says that if an individual believes in a personal God or for moral reasons - these sorts of reasons would not be undermined by Darwinism (2.20...). What would be wrong is if they then said that science reduces humanity or gives one a bleak view of the universe (2.47...). This brings his thinking even closer to mine.
