19 billions is spit in the pool, because EU economy is about 16 trillions. BRICS have no skills, strenght and capital to challenge USA. Russia never will have sufficient capital and economic resources to challenge EU and USA. Its economy is 15% of economy of that EU. They do not have economic potential and wealth even to be a major player on the world's economic stage and it is extremelly poorly managed country with extensive internal problems. This is issue for all Eastern Europe. After sactions and isolation, its economy will disintegrate and people will wait for basic necessities as I remember them from 1980's-1990's.

Russia may be economically weak, but militarily strong. Scary to think of the Russian military on the rampage again. The west has no idea what that means) Russia has practised Ethnic cleansing on a massive scale. a population shift west ward. new Russian minorities in the Ukraine, the baltics, eastern Poland, the former eastern germany. Russian speakers in all of eastern Europe.
Having an undevelopped depopulated interior and working steadily, stealthely to push the perimeter, absorbing the rich industrious developped peole and countires around it.
