Apognopos, what you say is true. I think it's easy to make up conspiracy theries, which then become hard to disproove. The new book staing that Andy Kauffman never died shows people will believe and buy anything.

Still if anyone feels they are certain on a conspiracy theory, please tell it and explain why.

I was 16 years old and living in Fort Worth when Kennedy was shot.

Earlier that morning, JFK had given a short speech in downtown Fort Worth.

I have read about 40+ books on the assassination.

    Here is my conclusion.

The entire "conspiracy"theory industry (yes, that is what it is) is the result of AMATEUR investigators with no expertise.

Every question raised by conspiracy theorists has been completely and soundly answered/debunked.

Yes, that is what I said.

Here is what Vincent Bugliosi (author of Reclaiming History: The Assassination of President John F. Kennedy) managed to do.

He took each and every crazy nutjob conspiracy idea (hundreds of them!) and took them apart, step by step.

Who have conspiracy amateurs accused of doing the dirty deed? Get ready to laugh:

Richard Nixon, Lyndon Johnson, Klu Klux Klan, C.I.A., K.G.B., Fidel Castro, Mafia,Teamster Jimmy Hoffa, Dixiecrats, John Birch Society, etc. etc.

IN OTHER WORDS: EVERYBODY BUT LEE HARVEY OSWALD!

Another fine book is Gerald Posner's CASE CLOSED.

If you don't have time to read credible books, then watch this instead.

Thanks Terry:- so i think we can conclude Oswald acted alone . However in order to carry out the assasination he had the " good fortune" that circumstances beyound is control fell in his favour.

So in an assasination sence Kennedy was unlucky and Hitler wad lucky.

please - enough with the conspiracy theories already - general principles suggest blunder and incompetence win over conspiracy everytime. The bigger the supposed conspiracy the less likley it is on the principle that people can't keep secrets - someone will blab. Terry - thank you for your usual dose of sense in the sea of nonsense that prevails on JWN.

Recent revelations about lapses in the Presidents protection can happen due to incompetence and sloppy work. The Secret Service has been very sloppy and hopefully can be brought back up to the level of competence one would expect.

No matter your opinion of our current Pres. an assassination would be a disaster for the whole country.

    Too many injuries.

    Not enough bullets.

    Oswald was "a patsy".

there was a recent demo with an army sharp shooter, which demonstrated exactly how easy it was and exactly how the bullets trajectory worked. he had no trouble doing it at all.

There were three sets of injuries and three bullets fired. One probably missed and another hit both Kennedy and Connally since they were in a straight line with the shooter. It's not really that hard to account for the injuries.

The people who harp on the multiple-shooter angle are generally the least informed. Folk wisdom isn't all it's cracked up to be.

The Wikipedia articles on the subject are really worth reading if someone doesn't want to read a whole book on the subject. That being said, the government's investigations also came to some faulty conclusions that were later discredited, so they are partly responsible for some of the opinions floating around to this day.

The question remains what was Oswald's motive to assassinate JFK in the first place ?

Did he really think by assassinating one US President in power that he would eventually crush and dismantle the US political system ?

    .

There is little doubt to his communistic ideology that he carried with himself.

    .

There is no question that he intensionally tried to hide himself from the crime as he quickly left the area.

Some have said he was most likely suffering from paranoid schizophrenia, assuming that the US government was after him.

There was much opposition to organizers of communistic political groups back then, who Oswald participated openly and in public.
