One thing that is unusual in the assassination of JFK is that the Oswald never went to trial where more evidence and information would have come forward.
He likely did act alone in the actual killing but why and what made him so motivated him leaves an open debate.
.
One suggestion that has come froward is that someone or a group of people promoted the assassination from organized crime individuals.
The Kennedy's were on a strong initiative to eliminate organization crime in the States, going after such people as Jimmy Hoffa and alike.
.
Oswald was making a name for himself as an anti US government, pro communist person who organized public rallies.
From that outward attention, he may have been approached by OC members with a financial reward attached to do the deed.
.
Of course this is just speculative theory based from little evidence.
Or he just may have carried on his own personal initiative, as a kind retribution from the hassles and obstruction the local police were giving him on his
anti government rallies.
.
Once he knew that the motorcade was going to pass right by his place of work, the Dallas book depository, the possibility of the killing was available to him.

In general terms, we shouldn't find it odd if someone decided to take vigilante action against the killer of a popular U.S. president. And this was Texas, famous for its gun-toting civilians. That being said, I think it's entirely possible that Oswald was the bottom rung of a conspiracy and that he was being silenced. The thing is, Ruby lived a few years longer and never said anything useful or concrete, even when he was dying of cancer.

The assassination of JFK was just part of what made the 1960's such a volatile time to live in for people who lived in North America,
with the cold war going on with Russia, children in school instructed to duck and cover under their desks because of the threat of nuclear war.
Racial strife and riots, wars like the Vietnam war. etc.
People such as myself that were mere kids growing up with all of that and the Watchtower Publishing house exploiting these particular events to support the notion
that mankind was living in the last days, it made for a very scary time for perhaps all JWS children.

Indeed. I'm sure that the events of the '60s were part of what sucked my parents into the org (plus, they've told me that the 1975 thing was a factor).

I've witnessed strange things in my lifetime.
"O.J. just COULDN'T have done it.
It MUST have been that racist detective Mark Fuhrman. . ."
And so it goes . . .
What we are really saying when we resort to conspiracy theories is the world is disappointing our expectations so radically
we are going to rejigger it and make it more believable (according to our personal notions of 'believable.'
Remember Julius Caesar's last words of total disbelief that his dear friend had plunge a dagger into him? "Et tu, Brute'? (You too, Brutus?)

Yes, I've seen it suggested that conspiracy theories actually soothe people's fears. The idea that a lone idiot with a rifle could kill the president is upsetting because it makes the foundations of society look shaky and uncertain. If, however, you assume that Oswald was supported by the mafia, an extensive criminal network, and furthermore that Ruby was cleaning up a loose end for the mafia when he killed Oswald, it allows you to relax a bit and say, "Well, it's just business as usual, since the world is run by a handful of people at the very top, and sometimes they come into conflict like this. This is all over our own heads as ordinary citizens." The world is thus under control, even if it's under the control of bad guys to some extent.

Conspiracy theorists have their own agenda to pick out small bits of information and coagulate them together to appeal to a preconceived conceptual idea of the actual events.
While at the the same time making the assertion that there are people who trying to undisclosed those select bits of suggested information.
The 9/11 attacks to use another example .
In the end its the extenuating exposure and evaluation of gathered information that reveals the real and probable truth toward those actual events.

WOW.
I'm really disappointed readuing all of this, especially you Terry.
There is SO MUCH REALLY GOOD EVIDENCE OF A HIGH-LEVEL CONSPIRACY.
People need to do their homework and study more history!!! Don't just read one book and dust your hjands together satisfied that you have the truth!
Kennedy had signed executoive order 11110 - authorizing the treasury to issue debt free currency, the revival of Lincoln's greenbacks (yes the other assassinated president). He was working on a program to dissolve the CIA and NSA and break the intelligence community into "a thousand pieces". Who ran the Warren Commission? Allen Dulles...Who was Allen Dulles? The CIA director fired by JFK!!! The CIA & The FED are the same people!! Look into the Bush family and thir connections to Dulles & the Harrimans & the Bin Ladens. PLEASE.
I get really upset when people take NO TIME TO RESEARCH!!! Most people just buy the crap they are spoon feed by the controlled media. It's a joke!! Do some reading and understand that this was a Coup d'etat!! It FOREVER changed this republic. It killed the republic. And Harry Truman, who was an insider, tried to warn us all in his last address. Kennedy too spoke of the same conspiracy. Any one of you can find all of this on the internet, just look!!!
OSAWLD WAS A PATSY - He was there, but NOT THE ASSASSIN!!!
