Pacifism is not a virtue. It is the moral eqivalent of seeing a woman being beaten and walking by on the other side.

As for preaching - the message that the JWs preach has no connection to the one Jesus comissioned his disciples to spread.

The message of the early church was about forgiveness and reconciliation with god through faith in Jesus...

Let it therefore be known to you, brothers, that through this One a forgiveness of sins is being published to you; and that from all the things from which you could not be declared guiltless by means of the law of Moses, everyone who believes is declared guiltless by means of this One .” Acts 13:38- 39

The Watchtower's message would be anathema to the apostles.

“If we or an angel out of heaven were to declare to you as good news something beyond what we declared to you as good news let him be accursed.” (Gal.1:8)

The Watchtower preach a materialistic message about petting pandas in paradise and a succession of failed prophecies.

    I'd say:

OK. Those things are important to you and you see them as good things. A religion should spread the word if they've got it right. The problem with JWs is that the message keeps changing and therefore can't be correct at any time it's preached.

The message from the Bible differs from the message of the Watchtower corporation. Have you noticed the differences from what Jesus said to preach and what the men in Brooklyn want preached? (Await another cliche).

War is a terrible thing but it isn't just JWs that don't want to participate in it so the JWs are not exclusive in this. (Await another cliche). Sadly the Watchtower corporation has not entirely been honest with you about this as they have their fingers in money associated with war but you will need to do your own research to uncover this. I can give you a name to look up. Randcam. Are you willing to research this? (Await another cliche that means no research is needed by the JW as they totally trust the Brooklyn popes).

I for one, do not approve of the protection of paedophiles within the organisation. Do you know what the instructions to elders are about reporting paedophiles to the police? Will you ask the elders about this? (Await another cliche and denial of the protection of paedophiles).

A closed mind is a very difficult thing to open unless they are willing to think for themselves. Often what ever you come back with will be dismissed immediatly to protect their world and the cult leaders. It's classic cult mind control at work here.

Samson, an imperfect man killed a thousand men with a jaw bone of an ass. What do you think a perfect man could do with a whip in his hand? Even Jesus Christ made a weapon. (See John 2:15)

    New Living Translation
Jesus made a whip from some ropes and chased them all out of the Temple. He drove out the sheep and cattle, scattered the money changers' coins over the floor, and turned over their tables.

And as far as JWs being the only ones preaching the name Jehovah, that is a bucket of hot air! Last month on TV Nevada and I heard a Baptist preacher use the name "Jehovah" 31 times in his talk. Needless to say, we were a bit stunned. We have heard movie stars use that name, the military, preachers, and there is another group called (The True Faith Jehovah's Witnesses) who preach it from door to door just like the Watchtower JWs do. They are a break-off group from the Watchtower.

JWs don't go to war, not because they are pacifists, but because they consider themselves citizens of "God's government" and thus cannot serve in another government's army. If Jehovah recruited them in His armed forces, be sure they would sign in and take the sword to slain unfaithful ones. Jehovah's Witnesses "of old times" (i.e. Israelites) did just that, when they (so the myth goes) conquered Canaan. Besides, they expect from Jehovah's "government" to bring Armageddon, which is a total war, as total as it can be, and bring the violent death of about 7 billion people worldwide, the 99.9% of the world population. ALL JWs expect that, and almost all are comfortable with that. Is that their idea of "hating war"? Ridiculous claim.

As for the preaching stuff, a load full of Christian denominations do more or less the same thing: Door to door (Mormons), handing leaflets, tracts, brochures (almost all of them), web sites, TV stations, TV net broadcasting, the list is endless (and valueless).

What would be your reply to that?

They just wait for their god to wipe out the billions of people on earth who don't think and act like them. I guess they're more partial to mass genocide.

When I contacted the C.I.D. (Criminal Investigation Division) of the Armed Forces, which is considered the FBI of the United States Military, an officer told me point blank that Jehovah's Witnesses are very much a part of the military. And I got that information from someone I know is not going to lie to me. The C.I.D. agent is my son.

Being a pacifist is one of those things that sounds like a virtue, but really isn't. Imagine a bully beating up on an old lady while you stood and watched and did nothing, because you philosophically don't believe in hurting others. Does that make you virteous? I don't think so. Then imagine standing around while the bully took out all the other people watching, one by one, except you. What do you think would happen next? Obviously he will then go after you. Does that seem smart?

War is a necessary evil. The best way to assure peace is to have a strong military. My husband is a retired Army warrant officer, he is the most peaceable person I know, but he knows that in order for religions like the Jehovah's Witnesses to exist, someone has to do the dirty work that they won't do. If the US did not have a strong military, how long do you thing it would be before radical Muslims took over? How many Jehovah's Witnesses would there be then?

The JWs are so proud of the fact that they were persecuted in Natzi Germany, being willing to go to the concentration camps before they violated their pacifist stance, but if others had not been willing to go to war the Natzis would never have been stopped and we would all be speaking German now. And the Jehovah's Witnesses basically volunteered for the camps, they could have avoided them by pretending to support Hitler. There really is no virtue in being stupid. It's also hypocritical, as the Watchtower hides and lies about their past, and practices "spiritual warfare"; in other words, lying. So what is better, refusing to tell one lie, going to the camps and providing free labor for an evil regime, or doing what you need to do to avoid that and then working to bring down that regime?

Also, the JWs justify their pacifist stance by insisting the world is ending soon, so it doesn't matter which governmental is in power, but since they are mistaken about being in the last days, it makes that argument meaningless.
