Apparently there is a lot of upset over the video being all over the news of Browns mother and her boyfriend and their 'm..f..kers..and burn it ' tirade. Lots of upset. They at first denied any involvement - the lawyers claim it wasn't them. Of course they later retracted that and said 'well, she's a grieving mother and you have to let her be upset and all that talk was in the heat of the moment' kind of statement. I think the notion of getting hit with a lawsuit for inciting riots might have a factor in that explanation and I think they have enough problems to deal with already.

Louis Head was the driver of the vehicle (Lesley McSpadden as passenger) which was recently in the news for the felony robbery at the Mike Brown T-Shirt stand.

According to several news articles, as well as police reports, both Head and McSpadden physically attacked one of the family members for selling “unauthorized” T-Shirts. The method of attack involved smashing the victim in the face with a pipe (details here).

Recent pontifications are even more astounding when you consider the author of the request for peaceful protest, step-dad Louis Head, is a former Bloods’ gang leader in Saint Louis. Not only was/is he part of the gang leadership but he was previously convicted on Federal firearms charges related to the manufacture, distribution and sale of narcotics.

Reportedly, Head gained an early release from Federal Prison after an agreement to turn evidence, and snitch on other people within the illicit gun/drug trade.

'and as if there is mental health issues involved ?'

Exactly the same - the person gets a chance to respond to police instruction. If the mentally-ill person fails to respond then they run the risk of getting shot, too.

I get your point Shirley, if anyone comes at you with a weapon mentally deranged or not you have to defend yourself accordingly.

    .

I do think that the altercation at Wilson's police vehicle when Brown grabbed at Wilson's gun had subsequent relevance to how Wilson was to follow through on apprehending Brown.

As it was noted by another poster, Brown was intoxicated at the time of the incident, which adds explanation to his erratic behavior.

18 years olds high on booze and drugs can behave with aggressive belligerence, add that to someone who already has as bullying personality and character and look out.

Yes, the officer should have shot him in the kneecap or thumb.

and as if there is mental health issues involved?

While the police do what they can, they are not mental health professionals. If the police are having to deal with someone then it means some other system has failed and it's unfair to expect the police to dialogose and treat them in the street.

If they are a danger and it is caused by mental health issues then they should have taken their meds or gotten help.

I think we see an example of the kind of explosive reaction and level of anger that could well be the sort of reaction that got MB shot - maybe he learnt his behavior or it had some influence on him? It seemed to be well beyond someone grieving for their step-son after 3+ months - it was pure hatred and definitely inciting the crowd. Maybe the kind of hatred that could be instilled in a youth to give them a warped view of the police?

Sad that no one concerned can stand up and say "yep, that was wrong".

CNN legal analysts Sunny Hostin and Mark O'Mara both felt prosecutor Robert McCulloch 'softballed' his questions to Officer Wilson, meaning he did not press Wilson to explain the discrepencies in his testimony or his projections of Brown's actions.

This case will move to other jurisdictions and classifications.

By stealing the cigars this young man set in motion his own death and is resposible for it and the current riots. What right does he have to steal? Who's going to believe the testamony of thieves who asaulted a store clerk? Do you think he had agressive behaviour that night? He was not walking home from the Kingdom hall. Looting and destroying property...what a good way to protest this "crime." Discusting.

I'm sure there will be some things done to appease the crowd and feed their belief system. Obama and Holder will spend millions to discover that yes, MB is still dead and there is no change that they can make to the system to prevent it happening in future because it is a fundamental principle of law: if you remove the right of the police to defend themselves from attack then you will have no police and Nov 24th Ferguson's all over the place.

Nothing will change until communities change their opinions and behaviours and I don't see that happening. I think we'll simply see ever more concentrated black communities and more dumb kids doing dumb things because of what they have been indoctrinated to believe.

In future though I expect more police to wear body cameras so we'll be able to dismiss the bogus complaints more quickly so towns don't have to burn over someone else's racist paranoia. Video evidence still won't convince the people who aren't convinced by evidence though.

BTW: It seems to me that while having a black president and a black attourney general, race relations in the US have been set back 20 years or more. Is that causal or just coincidental?
