Do I want to be like the ex-jws on this board?

At least ex-JWs don't support and defend a policy that allows peds to f__k a little innocent child and get away with it.

Non is sure that some ex jws do support such a policy. And there are plenty of jws that do not. There are plenty of jw that detest and abhor pedophilia. You need to open your eyes and smell the granolas.

    An excellent question.

Do I want to be able to think for myself?

Do I want to be able to show love to whomever I wish--even if they disagree with me on some things?

Do I want to be allowed to question what I hear?

Do I want to be able to speak out publically against wrongdoing, not keep quiet because it might make Jehovah's Perfect Organization look bad?

The list goes on and on...

    Hmmm

I thought the first thing a JW ask himself is "DUH....."

I'm sure more JW's are asking themselves

"Do I actually still believe any of this crap?"

It's funny how the artist formerly known as Dunsscott now using the userid non_trias_theos is so quick to the keyboard whenever someone like hawkaw takes a potshot at the pedo WT policy. Notice how he once again says absolutely nothing, since most members of this board already know that some ex-jw's would support 'such a policy' and (perhaps) plenty of witnesses that do not support 'such a policy'. The problem is, the witnesses who do not support 'such a policy' aren't going to do anything but sit by and let the witnesses who do support 'such a policy' go to town on innocent children, because 'such a policy' prevents the former from being stopped. Hence the plenty of jws who 'detest and abhor' pdophilia's lack of a will to fight what they detest, and wait on God to straighten it out.

Eutapro - you are making quite a generalized statement here. There are some individuals on this board that I do not agree with at all - there are some that I agree with on a few issues - and there are others that I find a kindred with.

It was the same when I was a JW - some I really connected to and felt they had a wonderful heart and were very faithful. Then there were others that really only worried about appearances. To group them together and say that ALL JW's only care about are the "outward appearances" would be wrong.

Non is sure that some ex jws do support such a policy. And there are plenty of jws that do not. There are plenty of jw that detest and abhor pedophilia

Non - I agree with you on this. My mother was very upset at how some of the situations were handled, although she still believes the WTBS is God's true Organization she does not believe that they are perfect and never make mistakes. I only hope that those who really "detest and abhor pedophilia" will follow-up and be sure that the policies are changed AND FOLLOWED to protect children in the future.

As I see it - the issue should not be JWs vs ex-JWs - it should be all of us standing up to protect children in EVERY circumstance or religion - regardless of our personal beliefs.

$$$Do I want to be able to think for myself?$$$

No one ever truly thinks for themselves. There is always some type of conditioning at work in one's life. But there is a certain proper type of autonomy that all should desire. But the idea is interdependence and not independence in an absolute way.

$$$Do I want to be able to show love to whomever I wish--even if they disagree with me on some things?$$$

Non draws the line when it comes to those who hate Jehovah and those that practice sin. Non do not want to be buddy buddy and hobknob with worldings who cuss, drink too much, are homosexual or who fornicate. If you hang with the ungodly, guess what you gonna be.

$$$Do I want to be allowed to question what I hear?$$$

jw already are allowed to question what they hear. Non does it all the time.

$$$Do I want to be able to speak out publically against wrongdoing, not keep quiet because it might make Jehovah's Perfect Organization look bad?$$$

This is an example of a question that is loaded and improperly framed. Give non a break.

Eutapro not make a statement. He asked question. Non made statements. But non no want to be like most people on this board. Non no like the F word and other such mess like sex jokes and homo lifestyle.

$$$It was the same when I was a JW - some I really connected to and felt they had a wonderful heart and were very faithful. Then there were others that really only worried about appearances. Neither non nor eutapro made such generalizations.

You show yourself as open mind.
