I am not like the people on this board. We are not like each other. We are all very different. The only thing we have in commong is that we once attended the same church.
Dawn, I don't think you win any brownie points for being a born again Christian. JWs hate exjws, no matter what they are. They don't make exceptions for good, kind, caring, hardworking, generous, nice, or christian people - like many of the people here.

You speak of autonomy, but the society inculcates complete reliance on, and subservience to, the GB. Anyone who publically promoted interdependence (ignoring the teamwork involved in passing bricks at a quick-build) would be ousted as an apostate. Welcome aboard the apostate train!

I don't mean a question in the sense of a fact-finding question. Dare to question CRITICALLY something completely harmless like the no-beards issue, and see how often you're counciled for independent thinking. Questioning it internally might eventually lead to your freedom, but that doesn't apply to this situation.jw already are allowed to question what they hear. Non does it all the time.

Yep, I agree 100% non.. There are plenty of JW's who actually have their heart and conscience in the right place, and detest and abhor pedophilia...
Recently, a few of them dared to speak up for their own conscience, and the victims, and say out loud,
"Hello, GB.. Anybody home... Didn't god tell you in the bible that Pedophilia is wrong?? Shouldn't you be doing something about it??? HELLO"..
And the GB quickly responded by disfellowing these honest-hearted conscience guided Christians for DARING to question the one's that receive the light directly from god almighty..

THESE HONEST HEARTED ONES WHO SPOKE UP KNOWING THE PERSECUTION THEY WERE GONNA FACE DID THE MOST CHRISTIAN OF ALL THINGS..
So non, I ask you as a fellow Christian, are you gonna stand up and do the MOST CHRISTIAN ACT you can and say outloud, "Hello.. I don't want to be anywhere near these pedophiles.. Get them away from me.. There is something wrong here, and we need to fix it", knowing full well what will probably happen to you..
Or are you gonna be a hypocrit, and claim the title of CHRISTIAN, having admitted that you abhor pedophilia in any and all forms, yet idly stand by when you see something that you clearly and conscientiously agree with is WRONG.."?
Talk about bringing reproach on Jehovah's organization.. The fact that pedophiles are in the ranks of the JW's is not all that surprising.. (They are unfortunatly everywhere, in all religions, in all walks of life etc)... The fact that the GB is and has refused to 'purge' them from their ranks and more importantly, help to see justice is done MOST IMPORTANTLY provide care to the victims, is disheartening at best.. The fact that ANY JW does not stand up and shout from the roof-tops that there is an injustice here, regaurdless of the consequences of his/her actions because THEY ARE AFRAID of the persecution is UNWORTHY of someone calling themselves a CHRISTIAN!!!!
The dateline program exposed a few things:
A.) There is a pedophilia problem in the JW organization
B.) The organization itself IS NOT doing anything of merit to take care of the problem internally
C.) The organization was hindering outside help to deal with the issue
D.) There are some people within the JW religion who follow Christ's words, and stood up for what they know was right, regaurdless of the PERSECUTION they are enduring from within the organization.
E.) All JW's who claim that they too hate pedophiles, but do nothing about it themselves are NOT WORTHY of calling themselves Christian..
So, I ask you again, Non.. You obviously KNOW that Child Abuse is NOT right, is a MAJOR sin, and is unbiblical.. YOU KNOW this, regaurdless of what the GB does or doesn't do, you KNOW THIS.. You have stated so.. The bible states so.. There have been articles in the WT/Awake that state so...
Are you gonna sit idly by while the GB does nothing, or are you gonna show your true CHRISTIANITY and do what you have already admitted GOD would want you to do, as he would want any CHRISTIAN to do, and as a few TRUE CHRISTIANS have already done within the organization?
Or are you too afraid of the persecution you will receive??? Can you HONESTLY say that the GB is being guided by GOD if they missed this one, especially since they have condenmed other religions for similiar problems???
Speak up, earn the CHRISTIAN respect of everyone here, and earn favor in Christ and Jehovah's eyes.. Faith is shown by good works, right? Well, here is your opportunity.....

Just a question: Does anyone know why Non speaks of himself in the third person? IMHO it makes him sound somewhat illiterate and hard to put any validity in anything he says.

deddaisy, it's because he's imitating his masters. Who have ALWAYS referred to themselves in the 3rd person all these years? All personal references are intentionally purged. That's why it is called Monologue instead of Dialogue. Devoid of pronouns.

I too saw this interesting.
Is Non also familiar with the scripture In Matthew chapter 5:43-48:
"You have heard it said, 'Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those that persecute you, that you may be sons of your father in heaven. HE causes the sun to rise on the evil and the good and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? And if you greet only your brothers what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly father is perfect."
I believe another Gospel records "Even the pagans love those who love them".
True Christians love everyone.
