    hi non,

um, ..........let's see, ......now jesus, hung around lowly people,.....prostitutes....tax collecters...the woman at the well,...

but jws,,,,,,,,errr.... i mean the pharisees hung around themselves....and their wicked, self-righteous leaders,,,,,,right?

now let's see,,,,,,who handed jesus over to death?........the pharisees, or the prostitutes?

Jesus did not hang around prostitutes. He did not hobknob with profligates and homosexuals. Jesus preached to prostitutes and he say that repentant women of the evening would enter the kingdom. But Jesus knew that bad association spoils useful habits.

In sales they might call this bait and switch....I guess there must be quite a few trolls in retail.

EXCELLENT POINT Crawdad, it's such a pity that these guys just don't get it.

Why are you guy "associating" with us if we're so bad? I think some people need to go to a few more Watchtower Studies, your indoctrination hasn't taken properly yet.

Do I want to be like the ex-jws on this board?

Why not? You would discover the freedom that we all enjoy.

Or are you just an H.G. Wells fan?

    Greetings Eutapro et al,

One question that JWs should ask themselves is why they don't demand a General Convention to enable each and everyone, clergy (elders) and laity, to have a voice in Watch Tower policy? What is wrong with an open and public debate of the issues? Why aren't Jehovah's Witnesses allowed to select whom they want to serve on the Governing Board, a body that makes life and death decisions for them? The problem with your organizational structure is that it lacks the necessary checks and balances, making it incapable of dealing with the issues addressed by DATELINE. Your stock answer will be that you let God deal with it and that He will make the necessary changes.

Well to me it looks like God uses the democratically elected governments of the United States of America, United Kingdom, France, and other nations, to make the Watch Tower change its policies. Wouldn't it be more direct if God used a democratically elected General Convention of Jehovah's Witnesses to change the Watch Tower?

Perhaps you could spearhead a movement for change in your church.

    Good luck,

    Athanasius

Non draws the line when it comes to those who hate Jehovah and those that practice sin. Non do not want to be buddy buddy and hobknob with worldings who cuss, drink too much, are homosexual or who fornicate. If you hang with the ungodly, guess what you gonna be.

Non - I am very curious how you and Eutapro would respond to someone like myself. I am DF and now a born again Christian. I love Jehovah and Jesus, read my bible regularly, go to weekly bible studies, Church on Sunday, am a part-time Sunday school techer. I am not a homosexual, fornicator, etc. etc. etc. although I am imperfect and I sin daily (hey - let's be honest right?!) - but I try to live a wholesome life and am making an effort to allow Jesus to be the Lord of my life.

However - I do not believe that the WTBS is God's chosen organization. In fact, I do not believe that ANY organized religion by itself is God's chosen organization - I believe that we each must have a personal relationship with God and Jesus. I go to Church as it is a place to worship God and offers encouragement to me - but I don't "follow" the pastor - I only follow God.

So - am I considered "ungodly"? I'm not trying to start an argument here - I am really curious as to your response. I have had this discussion with other JW's when I ask them why they continue to shun me now that I am no longer committing the act of fornication which I was DF'd for 12 years ago and have repented from.

    Non,
Do you use those dollar signs for quotes because you see others as a source of something for yourself?
Think about it, and your religion.
