Pedophilia is more prevelent in JW's than the Catholic Church. There's more of it because it's also tied to incest and incestuous families of elders protectng the pedophiles. These families interamarry within their circuits usually and the co- dependant family members are intercongregational within a circuit. The secrecy is what causes a conspiracy of silence to shut up the victims and keep the secret of elders' families.

You raise an interesting point shana, I think the JWs have been more effective in keeping victims silent.

JW victims can be reluctant to report abuses (of various kinds) out of fear of "bringing reproach upon Jehovah's name".

Which we all know is one of the gravest sins of all.

It's all about protecting the family secret with these pedophiles. They use the excuse of ""bringing reproach upon Jehovah's name" as the reason for silencing the victims and families of the victims. Victims are told "not to talk about it" or they could be slandering the accused molester. Now they are being threatened to keep silent or face charges of slander, or causing divisions. It's disgusting, and the Catholic Church does not even measure up to the amount of pedophilia kept secret within the Watchtower files. Just saying.
