World (cosmos) can mean different things in bible. Sometimes "world" (cosmos) means Satan's world (1 John 5:19). Sometime it may mean universe or people in general. No contradiction.

Considering that the bible is just a conglomeration of Hindu and Buddhist stories about mangods and mythical people and made up miracles it makes a lot of sense being as contradictory as it is. Mixing the myths of older religions and trying to make them fit your own would breed all kinds of contradictions.$$$

Look where you and probably your buddies are now. You can break God's rules but you cannot hide. Everyone render account to God. He tells non not to overdrink or smoke weed. There were hypocrites when James wrote James 4:4. There are still hypocrites today. Non still going to keep it real.

Some buddhists do have sex before marriage or outside of marriage as part of their religion. Non is also speaking generally. Most people in world usually do something displeasing to God on regular basis. You may not do any things non mentioned. He is not saying that you do. But the world in general is like that.

Everyone knows what hobknob means. In certain parts of world, it is common knowledge. I use the word cause I like way it looks and sounds.

I much prefer my spirit totally detached to the unjust and hypocritical - who are concerned with themselves for themselves, and those whose justice is coerced to look good in front of the current mob. Lies, lack of honour and all the rest of it.
In simpler terms, I'm unable to accept JWism as being ok. To my mind they contain the worst that the world has yet to offer - enslaving fellow humans through their own fears brought on by the mistrust of their own soul, reflected in the utter ignorance of the nature of God and goodness.
I always used to notice how when they came to the door, the first thing that would come out of their mouths was the "talk about the world" - not the earth, not spirituality - the state of the WORLD.

That is the oldest JW trick there is, trying to explain that a word means one thing when they want it to and the same exact word meaning something else when they want to try and explain their way out of it. Just as most JW's think you guys all believe that your religion is the only group on earth that tries to teach socially acceptable morals. Sorry to disappoint you but pretty much every religion in the world teaches the same exact thing. Your problem is you are not allowed to have that knowledge. What the JW's are, are the ones who claim one thing and do another. Who do you think you are talking to in this forum? A bunch of exQuakers? We were all JW's we saw the hypocrisy and heard the lies. I saw more booze at Bethel than I ever saw in one place. Just go there on a Friday night and look for all the people carrying brown paper bags into their rooms. I had the elders in both the congregations I went to have me over all the time for drinks and I watched them all get drunk why talking about how they were only feeling happy. I also know of regular pioneers having sex with other pioneers while they were supposed to be out in service all day. I saw it more than once. Just because the JW leaders discourage it doesn't mean it doesn't happen. Open you eyes pal!
Obviously you know noting about the story of either Buddha, Krishna or Osiris-Dionysus and their multitude of socking similarities to your beloved Jesus-god. Put down your Greek language book and read a little about Greek gods and myths. Then read a little about the story of Buddha and Krishna and try to explain to me why there are so many similarities to Jesus.

You got that term "hobknob" from a particular Watchtower printed in 1971.
I use the term myself.
Funny, isnt it, how phrases from Watchtowers,or particular words, stick in the mind and become common usage.

You are such a hypocrite, you say that the JW leaders tell you something and you yourself do as they say, but others who do not, but are still JW's are hypocrites. Doesn't the JW leaders tell you time and time again NOT to come to sites where there are known apostates and don't they tell you not to talk to disfellowshipped ones?
Do you pick and choose which things you are encouraged "not to do" according to your own agenda? Which is more disobedient to the faithful and discreet slave? You posting on an apostate site and talking to disfellowshipped people or the elder who gets drunk?
Is there a new list with a scale from one to ten that describes each thing you do in defiance of your leaders and how many hypocrisy points they are worth? IS talking and posting to us only a "3" on the hypocrisy scale and getting drunk a "10"?
