So did any of you catch the Dateline snippet with the letter being read?

JR Brown stated, "It is possible out of the 77,799 elders in the USA that a few of them did not follow directions."

Ain't that a shock, JR pinning on those damned untrained volunteers again?

Well, untrained volunteers, if I were you, I'd go get myself a personal liability policy.....

    POSTE HASTE

because the WBTS is not backing you up AGAIN.

(I won't even make mention of the fact that the JW Media site states that they have changed their policy on numerous occasions. Oh, pardon me, they didn't CHANGE it. They REFINED it.)

    Thanks Lisa for posting this.

I heard that statement too and I am thinking how nicely the wtbts has distanced itself from the little "elder" who will get sued now while they sit in their ivory tower above the R & F.

Hello. i noticed that too, and it would have sounded plausible were it not for the telephone conversation where the WT was giving instructions to the elder, telling him not to get himself in a jam and just walk away........

Let J.R. Brown blame the elders. See, after all the civil lawsuits that will be filed against "elders" for this sitaution, the WBTS will not come to their aid. Then the people of the congregations will get the hint that "wow, I don't wan't to be an elder, to much responsibility". Just another crack in the WBTS building. People aren't stupid. When they see elders going to court and dealing with the hardships involved with a civil case, they'll be thinking twice about taking such positions. Patience and time. WBTS is already digging their own grave, with their own shovel.

Maybe it's a good thing Brown said this. Perhaps this will piss some elders off who were following the society's own agenda on this.

Gee whiz they sure know how to pass the buck!! Don't they??
    Like lets blame the pawns.
Well I for one hope that some elders wise up and smell the smoke and say I am not going to take the blame for this. It will be interesting to see if there will be a drop in elders in the coming months.

Makes one wonder why anyone in their right minds would "reach out" for all those "privileges" of being an elder. When push comes to shove the WT will protect themselves over some small time elder and they will leave those elders out to dry.

When I heard that, I was focusing on the difference between their written and oral directions. I didn't even notice the sly passing of the buck.

    Good catch,
