And his point would be?......seems funny how he tried to shift the focus from "What's in the files" to "How she got the files" - I see the same tactic here at work - it's used by people called the "Defense Attorneys".
The story aired on a worldly program (satan's domain). Therefore, the story is bogus.
But when the tables are turned and these same "wordly programs" are talking about the Catholic church, it's all true. How stupid can they be?

plmkrzy - let me clarify, not the elders in Othello, who he said handled it all wrong, but the elders in the United States, or at least in his little corner of the USA. My father said the elders in Othello didn't handle Erica's case properly and did not follow written standard procedure....hmmmm......he might have been fed a lie, or is feeding lies, or hmmmm.....
Whether she wore the cross or not Erica got the short end of the deal and is still getting no sympathy from the Dubs. Shame on them, not on her!

And so goes the intellectual process of the average JW. Since they are trained not to think for themselves, they can't. In the example above, they don't have sense enough to challenge the premise.
What they are doing viz. the Erica story is called DENIAL. This denial is their only escape from COGNITIVE DISSONANCE. Denial and cognitive dissonance are characteristics of a partner in a DYSFUNCTIONAL RELATIONSHIP. The person engaged in denial actively enables the abuser, in this case the WTBTS, to continue to get away with the abuse. There's no better excuse for an abuser than to have the victim blame themselves or someone else for the abuse, holding the abuser blameless. And there's the dynamic of the WTBTS.

Rumors are so called going around about Barbara wearing a cross. Like it really matters at all. I never once said shame on Erica. Anywhere ever. WHO CARES!

You hit the nail on the head. The Watchtower uses logical fallacies left and right in its indoctrination process, so to see JW's following those same fallacies in their thinking is not really a surprise.

Therefore, a dog is a crow.
From an article on logic in Scientific American:
All crows are black
Therefore all non-black objects are not-crows
Now, any non-black object such as a fridge proves that all crows are black.
The WT uses this form of crooked reasoning / logic quite often too.
