Robyn,
I found this link interesting: http://www.cfpf.org.uk A group of quantum physicists say they have mathematical proof that consciousness survives death.
Thanks for sharing.
I read through what I assumed to be the main "heavyweight" article on that site, "The Scientific Proof of Survival After Death". I was somewhat surprised to see that the author Michael Roll did not make any attempts whatsoever to justify his doctrine, but instead concentrates on attacking a perceived conspiracy of almost all the world's scientists. As can be expected, he subscribes to a number of long-discredited ideas, and rejects without evidence Einstein's theories of relativity. Whatever his creditentials are, it is easy to see from his writings that he's gone off the far edge of sanity long ago.
Considering how much almost everyone would like to believe in an afterlife, it's not very sensible to believe that scientists should try to cover up actual evidence that it exists. I suspect emotions are what drives these pseudo-scientists, not hard facts. If they had any facts, beyond dodgy soul photographs, why don't they present them?
It is a common pattern from crackpots of all types to cry about censorship and conspiracies when their odeas are rejected. It is obvious why peer reviewers turned down Roll's writings. They have nothing to do with scientific work.
I for one, would very much like to not die. But given the evidence, I simply can't fool myself. Roll and others like him obviously can.
