It is SO uncharacteristic of the WTS to fold up and run........but I LOVE it!!!! They've had so much CONTROL over so many people, and this seems to shatter their illusion of bravado and total control in the "arena" in question.
It's such a pleasure to see both the halo and the crown slipping so quickly and so publicly, isn't it? How long we have waited for a reaction like this one!
One JW lawyer was likened to a "polecat?" (heeheehee) Am I wrong, or is that another name for a SKUNK????? (I lived in WV for four years and I seem to remember that's what they called'em) Anyway, the name fits!!!!

Or maybe Watchtower got what it really wanted...to bankrupt the father and that's all they cared about and they got it. It will be a warning against any other parent who dares to try this.

Sorry for my ignorance of law, but couldnt the judge make the WT pay his legal expenses, as a way of the judge showing that he knows they were hoping he would run out of cash.

AlanF, could you please tell me/us about the role of Greg Stafford in this? Was he due to appear as a witness AGAINST the Witnesses? He is critical to the blood doctrine in his book, and he is one of my "heroes", but me thinks he has embarked on one tough journey if that was the case?

Quoting Greg Stafford when replying on the Board mentioned above, as to to what extent the child abuse stand of the Society has been damaging to them:
"To the extent that the WTS's policies have led to distrust, confusion, and scarred the lives of those desiring to worship God, they have also contributed to harming truths of the Bible that are to a large extent uniquely championed by Jehovah's Witnesses. That is why I believe it is essential to view Bible truths as existing independently of the WTS, though the WTS publications continue to attach themselves to core Bible teachings in such a way as to depict themselves as the medium of such teachings, rather than the Bible."
That, in my opinion, is the core aim, the core sentence, the core philosophy of Greg Stafford, and it can be used in the blood issue, the child abuse issue etc. And it sums up very well what I have tried to state on occations, that I do not want to throw the baby out of the bathtub together with the water. Bible truths are one thing, the Society is another, and they exist independently of each other. Noone can in my eyes take away from the Society the great and important work they have done in bringing out great Bible truths, and the present sad situation within the Society must not lead to our slipping away from those same great Bible truths.

It is interesting that the WT has agreed to compromise on such an important issue for them just to prevent their dirty laundry and hypocrisy from being aired in public.
Asside from the Stratton victory, the WT has been really hit hard in recent months and cannot seem to get the upper hand on any front. I wonder how long they can keep running and hiding?
I really hope this girl can recover and get well and live long enough to appreciate the larger picture. I think time will tell if we really "won" but my hat's off to all who helped give her a chance.
