It's very nice to know other people get as much from the forum as I do. Of course I'm just the monkey turning the wheel - what makes it the place that it is are the posts by such a great (but mixed) bunch of people.

Shameful admission, I usually log onto this site when I'm at work. After such a good day here today, I decided to just log in for a few moments tonight. (blush)

I'm really glad that there have been more posts in appreciation of the forum. Recently I'd become a little despondent about the tone of some peoples post....and I wanted this thread to remind us all of what we *do* have being able to come here and talk.

Due in part to this forum my Aunt that was, DF'd over 35 YEARS ago, has been able to get through her shame and bitterness that she carried since that horrible event. Through Freeminds, and various essays that were written, especially by Amazing, that were printed off and given to her to read. The transformation as been stunning!

As for myself, I love the humor and insight I have found here. When someone is in need, the support shown is overwhelming.

When I found this forum my husband had recently passed away and after benig inactive for years I decided to go back to the Kingdom Hall because I thought that was what my husband would want me to do. On my first visit to the hall one of the elders counseled me because he said that my daughter's dress was too short and that if we were to continue coming to meetings she would have to wear longer skirts.

I was so disheartened that I knew my original decision was the right one and I have never been to the hall since that time and am no longer interested in being a Jehovah's Witnesses.

This forum helped confirm my beliefs that this cult was not speaking for god and that they were not the one and only true religion. I have also made friends with many on this forum and I feel truly peaceful for the first time in a long time.
